Bunker, 80, formerly of Redford, died Saturday, July 20, 2002, at the Skilled Nursing Facility at CVPH Medical Center after a long illness and under the care of Hospice. She was born in Plattsburgh on July 14, 1922, the daughter of George and Mary (Rule) Bruce, and the stepdaughter of Joseph Lawton. She graduated from Sallaz Academy in Redford. Myrtle married Earle Bunker of Redford on Oct. 19, 1941, in the Church of the Assumption. Mr. Bunker died on Aug. 13, 1954. Myrtle was a lifelong member of the Church of the Assumption in Redford. Myrtle is survived by her loving daughters, Bonnie Keysor and and her husband, Francis, of Saranac, Donna Stiles and her husband, William, of Plattsburgh, Cheryl Blair and her companion, Ed Waldron, of Redford, and Terry Spinner and her husband, Charles, of Altona; 12 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sisters, Annette Devan and her companion Jim Cayea of Mooers, Ann Liberty and her husband, Ed, of Saranac; her brother, James Lawton and his wife, Mary Ellen, of Redford; and many nieces and nephews. Nanny was deeply loved by her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved playing bingo, tending to everyone’s house plants and out-shopping her daughters. She was predeceased by her sister and brother-in-law, Mabel and Gib Darrah. Calling hours will be held on Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the R.W. Walker Funeral Home in Plattsburgh. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Tuesday, July 23, at 10 a.m. at the Church of the Assumption. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery in Redford. Donations in her memory may be made to the Assumption of Mary School Endowment Fund or Hospice of the North Country. Beatrice N. FassettPLATTSBURGH — Mrs. Beatrice N. Fassett, 84, of Valehaven in Peru, died Sunday, July 21, 2002, at the CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh. She was born in Lyon Mountain on March 11, 1918, the daughter of Willard and Zilda (Lancto) Baker. Beatrice had worked at the Champlain Valley Hospital and the Alert Facility on Plattsburgh Air Force Base. She was an avid bingo player. She was a life-time member of the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary. Beatrice is survived by two sons and two daughters-in-law, Roswell and Shirley Fassett, of West Chazy, Arthur and Shirley Fassett of Plattsburgh; two daughters and sons-in-law, Beatrice and Richard Wells of Loon Lake, and Velma and Richard Drew of Keeseville; one son-in-law, Joe Bushey of West Chazy; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Raymond and Irene Baker of Morrisonville and Mitchell and Rose Baker of Wisconsin; one sister, Janet Cayea, Treadwells Mill; 20 grandchildren; 46 great-grandchildren; and four great-great grandchildren. Beatrice is also survived by several nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her husband, Arthur Fassett; one daughter, Linda Bushey; and two infant sons, Herman and Walter Don. Michael Christopher SimondPLATTSBURGH — Michael Christopher Simond, 18, of Route 22B, died Saturday, July 20, 2002, at the CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh as a result of an automobile accident. He was born in Hamburg, Iowa, Oct. 11, 1983, the son of Scot and Marie (Hall) Simond. Michael enjoyed fishing, snowboarding, spending time outdoors, and camping. Survivors include his parents, Scot and Marie Simond of Plattsburgh; two sisters, Melissa Simond of Peru, and Melanie Simond of Plattsburgh; maternal grandparents, George and Margaret Hall of Union, Neb.; paternal grandfather, Donald Simond of Union, Neb.; and several aunts, uncles and cousins. Calling hours will be held Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Hamilton Funeral Home in Peru. A funeral service will be held Wednesday at 10 a.m. at the Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Kenneth Parker, pastor of the Peru Community Church, officiating. Burial will follow in the Schuyler Falls Cemetery. Donations in his memory may be made to the Peru Community Church. JEAN C. SHENE, 94, formerly of Vermontville, died Sunday, July 21, 2002, at Uihlein Mercy Center, Lake Placid, where she had been a resident since 2000. Born in AuSable Forks on Dec. 5, 1907, she was the daughter of Louis and Bertha (Sawyer) Aubin. Visitation will be at Fortune-Keough Funeral Home on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. The funeral service will follow at 8 at the funeral home with Pastor Kenneth Mihill officiating. Burial will be Thursday at 10 a.m. in Union Cemetery in Vermontville. BESSIE M. YANDO, 97, of 46 Constable St., Malone, died Saturday, July 20, 2002. She was born Sept. 11, 1904, in Malone, the daughter of George and Emma (Dumas) Delarm. Calling hours will be Monday, July 22, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the St. Mary-Murphy Funeral Home.
