Published 07/12/02Julia B. GirardCHICOPEE, MASS. — Julia B. "Judy" (Belmore) Girard, 68, of Chicopee, Mass., and Leesburg, Fla., died, on Tuesday, July 9, 2002, after a battle with cancer. She was last employed for 15 years as an executive secretary for the A.G. Spalding Company in Chicopee, Mass., now Spalding Sports Worldwide, and retired in 1990. Previously, she was employed for the former Atlantic Aluminum Company in Springfield, Mass. She was born in Essex, N.Y., on Aug. 21, 1933, a daughter of the late Roy H. and Eve Ann (Salem) Belmore. She graduated from Westport Central High School in Westport, N.Y., and attended business school in Albany, N.Y. She was very active in life, spending winters in Leesburg and summers with her family in Chicopee. She was a communicant and choir member of Saint Anne Church in the Fairview section of Chicopee and was a member of the Leesburg Community Choir in Florida. She enjoyed traveling and had many hobbies including needlework, piano playing, reading and cards. She loved her family and friends and will be dearly missed She leaves her loving husband of 48 years, Ernest A. "Ernie" Girard Jr. They were married on Dec. 23, 1953, in St. Joseph’s Church in Essex, N.Y. She leaves her beloved children, Katherine J. Reiserer and her husband, Bruno of Springfield, Stephan R. Girard and his wife, Kim of Petaluma, Calif., Curtis R. Girard and his wife, Susan of Chicopee, Mark D. Girard and his wife, Virginia of Chicopee, Terese A. Girard-Majke and her husband, Garry of Granby and Kevin A. Girard. of Norfolk, Va.; her cherished grandchildren, Alycia Girard, Julie Majka, Taylor Girard, Timothy Girard and Adam Majka; her dear sister, Elizabeth Belzile and her husband, Morris of Willsboro, N.Y.; her dear brothers, Roy Belmore, Jr. and his wife Edna of Queensbury, N.Y., and the late Edward Belmore; her caring sister-in-law, Sadie Belmore of Elizabethtown, N.Y.; and many dear nephews and nieces. Visiting hours will be held for Julia on Monday July 15, 2002, from 11 a.m. to noon at the Huestis Funeral Home, 6 Maple Street, Willsboro, N.Y., followed by her burial at Calvary Cemetery on Route 22 in Willsboro, N.Y. Sylvia C. GarrowKEESEVILLE — Sylvia C. Garrow, 73, of Hill Street, died Thursday, July 7, 2002, at the CVPH Medical Center. She was born in Plattsburgh Nov. 8, 1928, the daughter of Lawrence and Mabel (Rinn) Macey. She married Anthony E. Garrow on June 4, 1954, at St. James Church in Cadyville. Sylvia was a member of St. John the Baptist Church in Keeseville for over 40 years. Survivors include her husband of 48 years; one daughter, Sandra Garrow of Plattsburgh; two sisters, Marion and Dan Downs of Plattsburgh and Audrey Dubuque and her companion, Lloyd Stampfler of Plattsburgh; two brothers, Gervis and Helen Macey of Plattsburgh and Donald and Veronica Macey of Plattsburgh; one granddaughter, Kimberlee Kedmenec; one great - granddaughter, Kaytlyn Marie Kedmenec; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by one brother, James Macey. Calling hours will be held on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the R. W. Walker Funeral Home in Plattsburgh. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Saturday at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Victory Church. Burial will follow in St. Peter’s Cemetery in Plattsburgh. Memorial donations may be made to the Keeseville Fire Department. |
