Katherine M. (Davis) Thatcher

TICONDEROGA — Katherine M. (Davis) Thatcher, 92, a recent resident of the Moses-Ludington Nursing Home of Ticonderoga, passed away Wednesday, July 3, 2002, at the Moses-Ludington Hospital in Ticonderoga.

Born in Hague October 29, 1909, she was the daughter of the late Chester and Cornelia (Mellon) Davis.

Katherine lived in the Ticonderoga area her entire life.

Her husband of 60 years, Carl R. Thatcher, pre-deceased her in March of 1994.

She is survived by three daughters, Shirley Thompson and Carlene Wendell, both of Ticonderoga, and Katherine Frasier of Queensbury; two sons, Carl Thatcher and Raymond Thatcher, both of Ticonderoga; one brother, John Davis of Watervliet; and one sister-in-law, Ruth Woods of Ticonderoga. She is also survived by 12 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Relatives and friends may call Friday from 3-5 at the Wilcox & Regan Funeral Home, 11 Algonkin St., Ticonderoga.

Funeral services will follow at 5:00 p.m. at the Funeral Home.

Donations in her memory may be made to the Parkinson Disease Research Fund of Albany Medical Center, 215 Washington Ave. Ext., Albany, New York 12205 or the Ticonderoga Emergency Squad, 1 Depot Street, Ticonderoga, New York 12883.

George W. Braid

KEESEVILLE — George W. Braid, 69, of AuSable Street, Keeseville, died Wednesday, July 03, 2002, in Lebanon, New Hampshire.

He was born in Boston August 18, 1932, the son of Alfred and Robina (Sheperd) Braid.

Mr. Braid retired from the United States Air Force in 1972 as a Tech Sergeant following 21 years of service. Recently he was a salesman for Day Brothers Wholesale in Tupper Lake.

He was a member of the Disabled American Veterans Chapter 179, Masonic Sunflower Lodge #0086 in Wichita, Kansas, and American Legion Post 20 in Plattsburgh.

Survivors include his wife, Ruth Braid of Keeseville; three daughters and sons-in-law, Allyson Braid and Bruno Hebert of Keeseville, Patricia and Dean Benson of Baldwinsville, and Barbara and Bernard Foster of Norwood; four sons and two daughters-in-law, George Braid of Keeseville, James and Meryl Braid of Keeseville, Thomas Braid of Daytona, Florida, and John and Dorothy Braid of Port Jervis; twelve grandchildren, Jennifer and Brad Benson, Brenda Albrecht, Kristian and Mark Passino, Nicole, Geoffrey and Michael Braid, Heather and James Braid, Sara Braid and Krystina Braid; two great-grandchildren, Hailey Villnave and Joshua Albrecht; a sister-in-law, Donna Connelly of Fountain Inn, S.C.; and three nephews.

He was predeceased by his parents and a brother, Alfred Braid.

Calling hours will be held Friday, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Hamilton Funeral Home in Keeseville. A gathering will be held at the Braid Home between calling hours from 4:30 to 6 p.m.

In lieu of flowers donations in his memory may be made to the Disabled American Veterans Chapter 179.

JOHN CARMINE BAIANO, 42, of 967 County Route 53, North Bangor, died Wednesday, July 3, 2002, at Alice Hyde Medical Center.

Born Jan. 6, 1960, in Malone, he was the son of Joseph J. and Marlene Hulbert Baiano Sr.

Calling hours will be Friday from noon until the time of the funeral service at 2 p.m. in St. Mary-Murphy Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Peter Berg officiating. Burial will take place in St. Augustine’s Cemetery in North Bangor.
