Clifford W. Henry

Port Henry, N.Y. — Clifford W. "Dip" Henry, 85, of Spring Street in Port Henry, N.Y., died peacefully at his home, surrounded by his family, on Friday, June 28, 2002.

He was born in Port Henry, N.Y., on March 26, 1917, the son of Harold Warren Henry and Grace (Clifford) Henry. In 1942, he married Marion Elizabeth Wallace.

Clifford, a lifelong resident of Port Henry, was a 1938 graduate of Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, N.Y., with a bachelor's degree in business administration.

He was proprietor of his family's 60-year-old business, H.W. Henry, Inc., Dodge and Chrysler automobile dealership until 1971, and then served as probation officer for Essex County, retiring in 1981.

Clifford served in World War II as a U.S. Army staff sergeant in the Pacific Theater. He was a 3rd Degree Master Mason with the Free and Accepted Masons, Morning Sun Lodge 142, having been a member for 63 years. Clifford was also a member of the Mt. Moriah Presbyterian Church and past member of the Retired Senior Volunteer program where he delivered Meals on Wheels.

Surviving family include his daughter, Priscilla Selmser and her husband James of Chittenango, Peter Henry and his wife Nancy of Rainbow Lake and daughter Deborah of Port Henry; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two sisters-in-law, Joyce Reed Folsom and Emily Henry; and many cousins, nieces and nephews, including Dale Henry, who resides at the Henry residence.

Clifford was predeceased by his wife Marion and two brothers, Dr. Robert Henry of Lake George and Dr. Douglas Henry of Schoharie.

In honor of Clifford's wishes, there will be no calling hours. A graveside service will be held at the Union Cemetery in Port Henry on Friday, July 5, 2002, at 11 a.m., officiated by the Rev. Evelyn Meridith and assisted by Deacon Elliott Shaw.

Contributions in Clifford's memory may be made to the Town of Moriah Ambulance Squad, High Peaks Hospice and the Westport Animal Shelter SPCA.

Arrangements are with the Harland Funeral Home in Port Henry.

Dora M. Glaude

Champlain — Dora M. Glaude, 91, of Champlain, passed away Sunday, June 30, 2002, at Meadowbrook Nursing Home.

She was born in Mooers on Aug. 1, 1910, the daughter of John and Delia (Mesick) Belrose.

She was predeceased by her husband Frank, who passed away June 9, 1958; seven brothers, John, Abraham, Adolph, Jerome, Albert, Rolland and Joseph; and four sisters, Bertha Mesec, Della Matott, Harriett Favreau and Madeline Burl.

Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Henry and Anrea Hayward of Troy, N.Y., and Leon and Marie Dupee of Champlain; two sisters, Marie Flora Trombley of Champlain and Mary Matott of Plattsburgh; seven grandchildren, Lee Dupee, Neil Dupee, Julie Frennier, Tami Richer, Randy Hayward, Karen O’Melia and Kevin Hayward. She is also survived by 10 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Dora was well known for her handmade woven rugs, jewelry and crafts.

Calling hours will be Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Clark Funeral Home in Champlain. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Thursday, July 4, 2002, at 11 a.m. from St. Mary's Church in Champlain.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Dora's memory to the Champlain Fire Department or St. Mary's Church.

Kay Wing Clookey

Dickinson — Kay Wing Clookey, 59, of State Route 11B in Dickinson, died Sunday, June 30, 2002, at Alice Hyde Medical Center, Malone, N.Y.

She was born in Malone, N.Y., on July 2, 1942, the daughter of Bernard and Ethel (Helm) Mills.

Her first marriage was to John "Jack" Wing on Dec. 30, 1961, in Chateaugay. He predeceased her on Dec. 25, 1993. She then married Jay Clookey on July 10, 1998, in St. Patrick's Church, Chateaugay.

Mrs. Clookey is survived by her husband of three years; three daughters and sons-in-law, Susan and Michael Cassavaw of Dannemora, N.Y., Robin and Thomas Prenoveau of Plattsburgh, N.Y., and Jackie and Jim Cobb of Plattsburgh, N.Y.; six grandchildren, Kristi and Tyler Cassavaw, Nicole and Amanda Prenoveau and Evan and Abby Cobb; two brothers and sisters-in-law, William and Mable Mills of Chateaugay, N.Y., and John and Olga Mills of Malone, N.Y.; two sisters, Barbara LaBare of Chateaugay, N.Y., and Sheila Silver of Plattsburgh, N.Y.; six sisters-in-law and four brothers-in-law, Barbara Smith of Malone, N.Y., Mary Ellen and Dennis Streuble of Seminole, Fla., Judy and Louis Soucia of Chateaugay, N.Y., Ruth Poupore of Moira, N.Y., Jean and Robert Chase of Morrisonville, N.Y., William Perham of Chateaugay, N.Y., and Beverly Mills of Chateaugay, N.Y.; six stepchildren and their spouses, Virginia Lee Clookey of Saranac Lake, N.Y., Jacqueline and Lyle Bouissey of Bangor, N.Y., Jay and Robin Clookey Sr. of Dickinson, Jill Dyer of Bangor, N.Y., Jaliene and Mark Moore of Constable, N.Y., and Joseph and Ellen Clookey of Dickinson, N.Y.; nine stepgrandchildren, Melissa Gonyea, Jay Jr. and Shane Clookey, Jamie, Mark and Patrick Dyer, Nathan and Tiffany Moore and Charles Clookey; and stepmother-in-law, Elizabeth Clookey of Dickinson, N.Y.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Jack Wing; two sisters, Sandra Perham and Beverly Carron; and a brother, James Mills.

Mrs. Clookey graduated from Chateaugay Central School in the Class of 1960. She recently retired from Franklin County Government where she was employed as a senior clerk. She was a communicant of St. Patrick's Church and volunteered for Hospice of the North Country.

Calling hours will be held at Chateaugay Funeral Home on Tuesday, July 2 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A Mass of Christian burial will be at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, July 3, 2002, in St. Patrick's Church with Rev. Ray Moreau officiating. Burial will take place at St. Patrick's Cemetery in Chateaugay.

Donations in her memory may be made to the Dickinson Fire Department or Hospice of the North Country.

Lawrence J. Pellerin

Redford — Lawrence J. Pellerin, 74, died Sunday, June 30, 2002, at the CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh.

He was born in Redford on Jan. 3, 1928, the son of Adlor and Evelyn (LaWare) Pellerin.

He was employed as an operating engineer and retired from Local 106 in 1990 after 36 years of service. He served in the U.S. Army from 1946 to 1949 and was a member of American Legion Post 1618 in Saranac. He was a member of the Church of the Assumption in Redford.

He is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law, Lawrence A. and Eva Pellerin of Saranac, Richard L. and Deborah Pellerin of Redford and Robert J. and Deborah Pellerin of Saranac Lake; three daughters and a son-in-law, Kathryn Pellerin and her companion Harvey Gauthier of Redford, Tina M. Pellerin and her companion LuConda Crespo of Schuyler Falls and Nancy A. and Kyle Roberts of Saranac; three stepsons and daughters-in-law, Harold L. and Doris DuBray of Kissimmee, Fla., Roger and Diana DuBray of Redford and Ronald and Debbie DuBray of Saranac Lake; 15 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

His first wife, Genevieve (Newell) Pellerin, died in 1983. His second wife, Elizabeth (Newell) Pellerin, died in 1991. Two brothers and four sisters also died earlier.

Calling hours will be held on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the O'Neill - Redden - Drown Funeral Home in Plattsburgh. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday from the Church of the Assumption in Redford. Interment will follow in the parish cemetery.

Memorial donations may be made to the Saranac Rescue Squad.

Nathaniel Alan Jensen

Westport — Nathaniel Alan Jensen, infant son of Richard and Rosalynd (Bazzie) Jensen, died Saturday, June 29, 2002, at the CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh.

He is survived by his parents of Westport; maternal grandparents, Michael and Virginia Bazzie of Pineville, W.Va.; paternal grandparents, Walter Daniel and Beverly Anne Jensen of Altamont; maternal great - grandmother, Helen Angell of Hinton, W.Va.; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

A graveside service will be held Wednesday, July 3, 2002, at 1:30 p.m. at the Black River Cemetery in Westport with Rev. Evelyn P. Meredith, pastor of the Westport Federated Church, officiating.

Donations in his memory may be made to the Westport Emergency Squad.

Arrangements are by the Hamilton Funeral Home in Westport.

Ada May Green

Willsboro, N.Y. — Ada May Green, 91, died at the Parrish Medical Center in Titusville, Fla., on Sunday, June 30, 2002, after a long illness. For many years, Mrs. Green made her summer home in Willsboro and her winter home in Florida.

She was born in Schenectady, N.Y., on Nov. 10, 1910, the daughter of Ernest and Rachel Anna (Sarringer) Cooper.

Mrs. Green was a member of the Willsboro United Methodist Church, the Indian River City Methodist Church in Titusville, the Willsboro Senior Citizens and the United Methodist Women of Willsboro. Ada loved to play bridge, golf and do crafts, many of which she donated to her churches for their craft fairs.

She is survived by several nieces and nephews, including Claudia Denison of Willsboro, Wayne H. Green of New City, N.Y., and Charles W. Green of Orlando, Fla.

Her husband of over 50 years, Alfred J. Green, predeceased her in 1986.

Calling hours will be held at the Huestis Funeral Home in Willsboro on Saturday, July 6, 2002, from 1 to 2 p.m. A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. also at the funeral home. Burial will follow in the family plot in Lakeview Cemetery, Lakeshore Road in Willsboro.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Willsboro United Methodist Church.

Robert J. Nicholson, of Keene, died Saturday, June 29, 2002, at the Horace Nye Home in Elizabethtown.

He was born in Keene Valley, N.Y., on Feb. 7, 1925, the son of Robert and Florence (Barton) Nicholson.

Calling hours will be held Tuesday from 10 to 11 a.m. at Marvin's Funeral Home in Elizabethtown. Funeral services will follow at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Norton Cemetery in Keene.

Leland Garlock, 80, of Champlain, passed away Monday, July 1, 2002, at his home.

Calling hours will be Thursday, July 4, 2002, at the Clark Funeral Home in Champlain from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday at the Clark Funeral Home chapel.
