Francis (Frank) Charbonneau

Crown Point, N.Y. — Francis (Frank) Charbonneau, 79, born in Cohoes, N.Y., on Jan. 30, 1923, the son of Nelson and Eva Charbonneau and married to Edith (Nagle) Dalzell on Dec. 24, 1963, died June 21, 2002, at the Moses Ludington Nursing Home in Ticonderoga, N.Y.

Frank was a World War II master salvage diver, having also served in the Korean Conflict in the Pacific theater. He was also the only member of Company B in Cohoes, N.Y., to survive when over 200 young men were killed in the Battle of Tarawa in the Pacific Ocean. After spending one year in the Conservation Corps and one year in the U.S. Army, he then spent 22 years as a master diver in the U.S. Navy and as an instructor in the Navy Diving Schools at Washington D.C., Bayonne, N.J., and Pier 88, New York City diving schools. He also served as Chief Petty Officer aboard several submarines during World War II.

Upon retirement from the U.S. Navy, he served as a New York State diver for the Division of Canals in Waterford, N.Y. He retired in 1971 due to an injury to his spine suffered while working underwater. He has been in poor health since then and has been confined to a wheelchair for the past 12 years. He had been an avid hunter and fisherman most of his life. He was a life member of the DAV and U.S. Navy Salvage Divers Reunited.

He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Edith, as well as three sons and spouses, Ronald and Sheriann Charbonneau of Hadley, N.Y., Francis and Karen Charbonneau of Ballston Spa, N.Y., and Clark and Sandra Charbonneau of StillWater, N.Y. He is also survived by two daughters, Linda Dorrer of Pine Plains, N.Y., and Lori Futch of Oneco, Fla.; three brothers, Lt. Col. Lawrence Charbonneau and Ed and Florence Charbonneau, all of Saratoga Springs, N.Y., and Leo Harold and Shirley Charbonneau of Albany, N.Y.

A memorial service will be held at the Harland Funeral Home, Port Henry, on Sunday, June 23, 2002, at 2 p.m., followed by a luncheon at the Senior Citizens Center/Masonic Hall on Rte. 9N and 22 in Crown Point.

Burial will be in the National Military Cemetery in Schuylerville, N.Y., with full military honors, at a later date.

Robert Loyal Seney

Morrisonville — Robert Loyal Seney, 26, of Ros Bo Lane, passed away Thursday, June 10, 2002, at the Adirondack Medical Center as a result of a motorcycle accident.

He was born in Poughkeepsie, N.Y., on Dec. 2, 1975, the son of Robert M. and Lorraine (Carter) Seney.

Robert was a graduate of Northern Adirondack Central in 1995. He was on the wrestling team at NAC and enjoyed weightlifting and motorcycle riding. Robert was a correction officer at Green Haven Correctional Facility. Robert was an avid Oakland Raiders fan. He married Jill Allen on Jan. 20, 2001.

He is survived by his wife Jill (Allen) Seney and their unborn child of Morrisonville; his parents, Robert M. and Lorraine Seney of Chazy Lake; two stepchildren, Shawn Duquette and Travis Duquette at home; his mother-in-law, Ruth Allen and her companion Allan Pearsall of Morrisonville; a sister Kerri and her husband Bill Paige of Mooers Forks; his maternal grandmother, Theresa Carter of Ellenburg Center; his maternal grandfather, Loyal Carter and his wife Noelia of Malone, N.Y.; one niece, Amanda Paige of Mooers Forks; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

He was predeceased by his grandparents, Robert and Verna Seney.

Calling hours will be Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Brown Funeral Home in Plattsburgh. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Tuesday at 11 a.m. at St. Alexander's Church in Morrisonville. Interment will follow in St. Alexander's Cemetery.

Elizabeth Jane Borde Boswell

Plattsburgh — Elizabeth Jane Borde Boswell, 84, passed away unexpectedly June 21, 2002. Jane was born in Plattsburgh to her parents Andrew Borde and Regina Garvey on March 30, 1918. She graduated from St. John's Academy and then Plattsburgh State Normal College in 1938. Jane married Robert Emmett "Tim" Boswell on Sept. 4, 1947.

Jane's teaching career began in St. Albans, Vt., where she taught grades 1 - 8 in a one room schoolhouse. After marrying and having three children, Jane returned to college and received her bachelor of science from Plattsburgh State in 1961. Jane became a Follow - Through teacher and worked with Bank Street College in New York City helping to develop the Early Childhood Program at Monty Street. Jane retired from the Plattsburgh City School District in 1978 after serving the district for 19 1/2 years. After her retirement, Jane was a major influence in organizing the Champlain Valley Council of Retirees and served as chairperson from 1987-1994. She later served as the Advisor/Historian of the CVCR and NYSUT Retiree Organizing Committee.

Jane will be remembered by those who knew and loved her as a person who was dedicated to her family, passionate about her causes and loyal to her friends. She enjoyed visiting her family and photographing every "special moment". Jane was a devout Catholic who attended daily Mass at various local churches.

She is survived by her three daughters, Regina "Thumper" Ferrazzo of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., Patricia Durkee and her husband Bruce of Fitchburg, Mass., and Anne "Mickey" Blake and her husband Terry of Plattsburgh. She is also survived by ten grandchildren and their spouses, Dean D'Ambrosio, Daniel D'Ambrosio and his wife Martine Lafond, Melissa and her husband Captain Mark Bennet, Dustin, Darrin, Drew and Darcy Durkee and Kelly, Jesse and Samantha Blake. Jane's survivors also include nieces and nephews, Barbara Kleschnitzki, Jane Pike, Mary Ellen Boswell and Sally, Sterling and Herling Sorrell.

She was predeceased by her husband, Robert "Tim" Boswell on Sept. 26, 1986; her parents; and a sister, Dorothy Rooney.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Monday at 10:30 a.m. from St. Mary's of the Lake Church followed by interment in Mt. Carmel Cemetery.

Donations may be made to the Adirondack Humane Society.

Dorothy M. Campbell

Plattsburgh — Mrs. Dorothy M. Campbell, 76, of Nichols Avenue, passed away Saturday, June 22, 2002, at the CVPH Medical Center.

She was born in Buffalo, N.Y., on Jan. 29, 1926, the daughter of Ambrose J. and Alice (Leary) Friedman.

She married her husband Raymond in 1948 at Our Lady of Victory Basilica in Lackawanna, N.Y. Dorothy enjoyed her children, grandchildren and her great-grandchild. She was a member of St. John the Baptist Church in Plattsburgh.

She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Raymond J. Campbell Sr. of Plattsburgh; a daughter and son-in-law, Diane and Kenneth Rabideau of Penn Yan, N.Y., a daughter, Donna P. Campbell and her best friend John Hart of Plattsburgh and a daughter, Coleen McGivney of Dannemora; a son, Raymond Campbell Jr. and his best friend Virginia Davis of Connecticut; two grandchildren, Timothy J. Rabideau of Rhode Island and Nicoll Ashline and her husband Jeffrey of Dannemora; a great-granddaughter, Emily Ashline; and several nieces and nephews.

Dorothy was predeceased by her brothers Donald J. Friedman and Charles T. Friedman; and a great-grandson, Jacob Ashline.

There will be no calling hours. Following cremation a memorial Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, June 26, 2002, at St. John's at 10 a.m. Interment will follow in Mt. Carmel Cemetery.

Friends wishing may make donations in her memory to the American Lung Association.

Graveside Service

Moore — A graveside service for Ida (Kaplan) Moore, who passed away June 9, 2002, will take place on Tuesday, June 25, 2002, at 10:30 a.m. at the family plot of the May Memorial Cemetery of Hague. The Rev. Floyd Freed will officiate. Arrangements are under the direction of Wilcox & Regan Funeral Home, Ticonderoga.

Grace E. McBride, 97, formerly of 27 McLenathen Avenue, a resident of Lake Placid for the past 78 years, passed away Monday, June 17, 2002, at the Uihlein Mercy Center.

She was born in Chateaugay on Feb. 28, 1905.

There are no calling hours. Funeral services will be held Monday, June 24, 2002, at 1 p.m. at the Saint Eustace Episcopal Church in Lake Placid. Rev. Peter Francis and Rev. Alan Macnab will officiate. Burial will be in the Saint Agnes Cemetery.

The Clark Funeral Home in Lake Placid is in charge of arrangements.

Bruce J. Conners, 45, of Chasm Falls, N.Y., died Friday night at his home while under the loving care of his family and Hospice of the North Country, Inc.

He was born in Malone on March 31, 1957, the son of James and Ivah (Raville) Conners.

There are no calling hours. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Tuesday at 10 a.m. at St. Helen's Church in Chasm Falls, with Msgr. Dennis Duprey officiating. Burial will be in St. Helen's Cemetery.

Arrangements are through the Bruso-Desnoyers Funeral Service, Inc. of Malone.

Robert L. Wilson, 82, of Water Street in Fort Covington, N.Y., died unexpectedly Friday, June 21, 2002, at the Alice Hyde Medical Center in Malone, N.Y.

He was born in Duane, N.Y., on Jan. 11, 1920, the son of the late George and Cora (Welcome) Wilson.

There are no calling hours. Funeral services will be private and at the convenience of the family. Burial will be in the Coal Hill Cemetery in Westville.

Arrangements are through the Cappiello-McKenzie and Cosgrove Funeral Home in Fort Covington.
