Published 06/09/02Wendell A. SeymourBEEKMANTOWN — Wendell A. Seymour, 43, of Smoke Rise Drive, died Friday, June 7, 2002, at the CVPH Medical Center. He was born in Plattsburgh on March 15, 1959, the son of Alton and Carole (Lombard) Seymour. Wendell was a member of St. Joseph’s Church in West Chazy and the Mooers Council of the Knights of Columbus. He graduated from Beekmantown Central High School in 1977 and worked at Chazy Orchards for 25 years where he was an assistant foreman. Survivors include two sons, David and Aaron Seymour, both of Malone; his father, Alton Seymour of Beekmantown; two brothers, Randall Seymour and his companion, April Brown, and Mark Seymour and his wife, Melissa, all of Beekmantown; three sisters, Lori Martin and her husband, Kevin, of Beekmantown, Sandra Magoon and her companion, Robert Charland, of Beekmantown; and Wanda Seymour of Colchester, Vt., and several nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be held Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the R.W. Walker Funeral Home. A vigil service will be held at 2:30 p.m. at the funeral home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph’s Church. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to a trust fund for his children, in his memory. Russell L. Dragoon Sr.SCIOTA — Russell L. Dragoon Sr., 77, of Sciota passed away at CVPH Medical Center. He was born in Sciota on July 31, 1924, the son of Richard and Mettie (Guyette) Dragoon. Russell was employed by the Town of Chazy Highway Department, retiring after 38 years of service. He was a Republican representative for the Town of Chazy for as many years. Survivors include five sons and four daughters-in-law, Deborah and Russell Dragoon Jr. of Altona, Gary and Betty Dragoon of Altona, Larry and Donna Dragoon of West Chazy, Mark Dragoon of Altona, Kelly and Kelly Jean Dragoon of Altona; a daughter and son-in-law, Dennis and Bonnie Wright of Schuyler Falls; eight grandchildren; three sisters, Ruth Garrand of Mooers, Ruby Matott of Plattsburgh and Lillian Alger of Morrisonville; two brothers, Millard Dragoon of Albany and Hillard Dragoon of West Chazy. He was predeceased by his wife, Rita (Mesec) Dragoon; two infant daughters, Melody and Barbara; and one brother, Elrick Dragoon. Calling hours will be Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Clark Funeral Home in Champlain. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Louis de France Church in Sciota. Memorial donations may be made to the West Chazy Fire Department Rescue Squad. John A. "Butch" UrbanPORT HENRY — John A. "Butch" Urban, 53, of Port Henry, died Thursday, June 6, 2002, at the CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh surrounded by his family. He was born in Ticonderoga, N.Y., on Feb. 2, 1949, the son of the late Anthony Urban. He served in the U.S. Army. A member of The Church of All Saints, Mineville. John was a self employed truck driver, an avid fisherman and hunter. He is survived by his wife of 22 years, Patricia Capuano Urban; his children, Amy Manfred of Ticonderoga, Kellie King and fiancé Caine Valentine of Moriah Center and Kelly and Carl Urban; Two brothers and their wives, Steve and Annie Urban of Mineville and Paul and Debbie Urban of Las Vegas, Nev.; two sisters; several nieces and nephews; grandchildren; and "Meika." Calling hours will be held Sunday, June 9, 2002 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Harland Funeral Home, Port Henry. LAMAR — A Mass of Christian burial was concelebrated June 8, 2002, from St. John the Baptist Church for Cecelia L. LaMar, 79, of Court Street who passed away June 4, 2002, at the Clinton County Nursing Home. The Rev. Kevin O’Brien, pastor, the Rev. Garvin Demarais, pastor of the Catholic Community of Keeseville and the Rev. William Reamer, chaplain at CVPH Medical Center concelebrated the funeral mass. The pall was placed by Millie LaMar Sears and Pam Sears. The crucifix was placed by Gina Rabideau and the Bible was placed by Linda LaMar Hamel. Gifts were presented by Donna LaMar and Michele Bola. The organist was Mary Ann Lawliss, and the soloist was Theresa Hammett. Pallbearers were Lenny LaMar, John LaMar, Jacques Rabideau, Ronnie Sears, Steve Bola and Francis Bola. Interment followed in St. Augustine’s Cemetery in Peru where the Rev. Vincent Jazmines, pastor of St. Augustine’s Church read the committal prayers. Brown Funeral Home of Plattsburgh made the arrangements. DARRAH — A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Saturday June 8, 2002, from St. John the Baptist Church for Kenneth H. Darrah, 80, of Smith Street who passed away Wednesday June 5, 2002, at the CVPH Medical Center. The Rev. Kevin O’Brien, Pastor, celebrated the funeral mass. Placement of the Pall was by Ethel Joyce, Deborah Duell, Kenneth Darrah and Tanya LaFountain. Placement of the Crucifix was by Lonnie Bedard, Roseva Arnold, Calvin Darrah, Kim Moyer and Duane Darrah. Scripture readings were by Shawn LaFountain and Edmond Joyce. Organist was Phil Rice. Soloist was Theresa Hammett. Bearers were James LaBombard, Ronald Duell, Gary LaFountain, Stacy Bedard, Dennis Darrah and Darren Zingerman. Honorary bearers were Edmond Joyce, Jason Duell, Shawn LaFountain, K.C. Darrah, Gary Arnold and Chad Brown. Interment followed in Mt. Carmel Cemetery where Fr. O’Brien read the committal prayers. Arrangements were by the Brown Funeral Home, Plattsburgh. FRANDINO — A Mass of Christian burial for William N. Frandino, 73, who died Wednesday, June 5, 2002, at CVPH Medical Center, was celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday from St. Peter’s Church in Plattsburgh. Monsignor Morris L. Dwyer celebrated the Mass. Music was by Perry Provost. The pall was placed by his daughter and son-in-law Lori Frandino and David Sanchez-Navarro. The rosary ws placed by his daughter Lori Frandino. The reader was Ida Jacques. Offertory gifts were presented by his sister, Cathy Aiken. The eulogy was delivered by Denny Doyle. Pall bearers were Bob Wallett, Mickey Serra, Lynn Delcore, Mike Monahan, Jim Neverette and Ed Calnon. Interment followed in Our Lady of Angels Cemetery in Whitehall. O’Neill-Redden-Drown Funeral Home in Plattsburgh was in charge of arrangements. |
