Arthur W. Tubbs

Crown Point — Arthur W. Tubbs, 81, of Sharon Park Road in Crown Point, died suddenly May 31, 2002, at the Fletcher Allen Health Care in Burlington, Vt.

He was born June 5, 1920, in Essex, N.Y., the son of Charles and Ida (McDougal) Tubbs. He was retired from International Paper Company in 1982 after 34 years of employment.

Arthur was a veteran of World War II, having served in Europe. He served in the 28th Division called the Bloody Bucket that participated in the Battle of the Bulge and had attended their reunion.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Margaret Tubbs of Crown Point; his son, Darwin Tubbs of Ticonderoga; three granddaughters; four great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his parents and his brothers, Leo, Mervin, Marston and Adrienne.

There will be no calling hours. A funeral service will be held Tuesday, June 4, at 2 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church in Crown Point. Burial will be in the White Church Cemetery in Crown Point. Funeral arrangements are with Harland Funeral Home.

Harold H. Ashline, 89, of State Route 30, Malone, died June 1, 2002, at the Alice Hyde Medical Center in Malone, where he had been a patient since May 27th.

He was born in Malone, N.Y., on Dec. 29, 1912, the son of the late George and Myrtle (Dibble) Ashline.

There are no calling hours. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Monday, June 3, 2002, at 11 a.m. in St. John Bosco Church in Malone. Burial will follow in Notre Dame Cemetery in Malone.

Arrangements are through the Bruso-Desnoyers Funeral Service of Malone.

GRAVESIDE SERVICE

Wright — A graveside service for Valeska B. Wright, who died Jan. 14, 2002, will take place on Wednesday, June 5, 2002, at 10:30 a.m. at the family plot of the Mt. Hope Cemetery of Ticonderoga. The Rev. Marjorie J. Floor will officiate. Arrangements are under the direction of Wilcox & Regan Funeral Home in Ticonderoga.
