 Patricia J. Sussdorff

Port Kent — Patricia J. Sussdorff, 60, of Bolivar Street, Port Kent, died unexpectedly, Thursday, May 30, 2002, at her home.

She was born in Cleveland, Ohio, Feb. 5, 1942, the daughter of James and Margaret (Bago) Papp.

She graduated Hiram College in 1964 and received her masters degree in education in 1967 from Purdue University.

Patricia retired from AuSable Valley Central School following many years of compassionate teaching with elementary children.

She was a member of the Peru Community Church Choir, the Ecumenical Choir, and the Quilters Guild.

She enjoyed quilting, gardening and most of all showing love for the people in her life.

Survivors include three daughters and one son-in-law, Jenny and Kevin Lyon of Peru, Mindy Sussdorff and companion, Matt Chase of Plattsburgh, and Lisa Sussdorff of Los Angeles, Calif.; one son, Edmund J. Sussdorff of Port Kent; her mother, Mrs. Margaret Papp of Keeseville; a brother, James Papp of Plattsburgh; her former husband, Edmund L. Sussdorff Jr. of Port Kent; one aunt, Erma Williams of California; and many wonderful and loving friends.

She was predeceased by her father, James Papp.

A memorial service will be held Monday, June 3, 2002, at 7 p.m. at the Peru Community Church, with Rev. Dr. Kenneth Parker, pastor, officiating.

Donations in her memory may be made to the Peru Community Church Music Department or the Ecumenical Choir.

Arrangements are with the Hamilton Funeral Home in Peru.

Alice M. Robert

Plattsburgh — Alice M. Robert, 88, formerly of the O’Neill Road, died Thursday, May 30, 2002, at Meadowbrook Healthcare Facility.

She was born in Sciota, N.Y., on Nov. 28, 1913, the daughter of Walter and Elmira (LaClaire) Gilman Sr.

Alice was a member of the Plattsburgh Methodist Church.

Her first husband John B. Stevenson died in 1955.

She married Floyd R. Robert in 1960. Mrs. Robert was the cafeteria supervisor at the Champlain Valley Hospital for 12 years retiring in 1970.

Survivors include her husband, Floyd Robert of West Chazy; one son, Robert Stevenson of Morrisonville; one daughter and son-in-law, Shirley and Robert Brown of Chateaugay Lake; one sister, Agnes Secore of Brainardsville; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by one son, James Stevenson in 1993; and one daughter, Mary Mervis in 1996.

Calling hours will be held Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the R. W. Walker Funeral Home in Plattsburgh. A funeral service will be held Monday at 11 a.m. in the funeral home chapel. Entombment will follow in Whispering Maples Memorial Gardens, Tom Miller Rd., Plattsburgh.

Donations may be made to the Hospice of the North Country.

Bernard J. Reid

Plattsburgh — Bernard J. Reid, 73, of Plattsburgh, died Wednesday, May 29, 2002, at his residence.

He was born in Plattsburgh on June 5, 1928, the son of Richard J. and Evalina (Bell) Reid.

He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He was employed as a correction officer at Clinton Correctional Facility in Dannemora for over 36 years and retired in 1990.

He is survived by a son, Tim Reid of Cadyville; two daughters, Debra Palmer of Plattsburgh and Lynda Post of San Antonio, Texas; a brother and sister-in- law, Orville and Golda Reid of Plattsburgh; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Bernice and Lloyd Lapham of Plattsburgh and Eleanor and Hersey Trombly of Chazy; five grandchildren, Kelly Palmer, John Palmer, Katelynn Reid, Erin Post and Nicole Post; and several nieces and nephews.

His wife, Iona (Gregory) Reid died on May 18, 1999. Five brothers, Robert, Harold, Edmund, Ray and Leander also died before him.

Calling hours will be held on Saturday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the O'Neill - Redden - Drown Funeral Home in Plattsburgh. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday from St. John’s Church in Plattsburgh. Interment will follow in St. Edmund’s Cemetery in Ellenburg.

Daniel F. Kennedy

Saratoga Springs — Daniel F. Kennedy of Congress Avenue, died unexpectedly Thursday. May 30, 2002, at Saratoga Hospital. He was 85.

He was born on March 30, 1917, in Lake Placid, N.Y., the son of Vernon and Harriet (Washburn) Kennedy.

During World War II, he served in the U.S. Army in the European Theatre.

He resided in Saratoga Springs since 1946.

He retired from the NYS Department of Transportation, Town of Moreau Garage, where he worked as a truck driver.

Dan was an active member of the First Baptist Church of Saratoga Springs, where he performed many acts of kindness.

His wife Mary (Morris) Kennedy died July 24, 1978. He was also predeceased by a sister, Margaret Warrington and a nephew, Craig Warrington.

Survivors include a sister, Mrs. Dorothy (Kennedy) Southmayd of Schuyler Falls, N.Y.; a nephew, Earl Southmayd and his wife, Carole of Schuyler Falls, N.Y.; nieces, Lana and Eugene Fournier of Plant City, Fla., and Joy Conway of Lake Placid, N.Y.; several great-nieces and nephews; and a dear friend, Alfred Conway.

Calling hours will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday, June 3, 2002, at Simone Funeral Home, Inc., 105 Lake Ave., Saratoga Springs (584-2240). Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, June 4, 2002, First Baptist Church of Saratoga Springs, 45 Washington Street, Saratoga Springs. The Rev. Jerrie Shepard Matney will officiate. Burial with full military honors will follow at 1:30 p.m. at the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, 200 Duell Rd, Town of Saratoga.

Luke Vincenzo Frechette

Manlius — Luke Vincenzo Frechette, 4, Of Manlius, died Thursday at University Hospital.

Luke was born in Syracuse and attended Bo Peep Preschool, Jamesville.

He is survived by his parents, Vinny and Didi Frechette; two sisters, Hanaah and Laena; a brother, Nathan, all of Manlius; paternal grandparents, Al and Emily Frechette of Sackets Harbor; maternal grandparents, Reginald and Joanne Barcomb of Batavia; maternal great - grandmother, Mary Jane Barcomb of Mooers Forks; and several Aunts, Uncles, and Cousins.

Mass of the Angels will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Holy Cross Church, DeWitt. Burial will be private. There will be no calling hours.

Eaton-Tubbs-Schepp Funeral Home in Fayetteville is in charge of arrangements.

Francis "Des" Vaughn, 72, of Sand Road, died Friday, May 31, 2002, at the CVPH Medical Center.

He was born in Plattsburgh on July 16, 1929, the son of Ernest and Lydia Marie (Paul) Vaughn.

Funeral arrangements are incomplete. The R. W. Walker Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

**Graveside service**

Dulmage — There will be a graveside service at 1:30 p.m. Saturday in St. Agnes Cemetery, Lake Placid, for Lillian E. Dulmage, 91, former Lake Placid resident who died Dec. 21, 2001, Mrs. Dulmage was born in Lake Placid Feb. 23, 1910, daughter of Silas and Katherine Wood Dashnaw.

The Piddock Funeral Home, Adams is in charge of arrangements.

LAWRENCE — A graveside service for Elizabeth " Betty" Lawrence, 76, who died Feb. 1, 2002, in Port Richey, Fla., will be held Monday, June 3, 2002, at 2 p.m. at St. Anges Cemetery, Lake Placid, N.Y.
