Russell H. Baker

WEST CHAZY — Russell H. Baker, 72, of Stratton Hill Road, passed away on Saturday, May 25, 2002, at CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh. He was born in Chazy on June 27, 1929, son of Nelson C. and Grace M. (Parrott) Baker.

Russell attended Chazy Central School. He had been employed for many years by Chazy Orchards, St. Peter’s Cemetery, and lastly he worked for Monahan and Loughlin until he became disabled. Russell enjoyed camping, fishing and boating. He attended St. Joseph’s Church in West Chazy.

Russell is survived by his wife of 48 years, Ramona M. (LaBare) Baker of West Chazy; two sons and daughters-in-law, Robin and Gloria Baker of West Chazy and Ronald and Rose Baker of West Chazy; four daughters and two sons-in-law, Kathleen and David Nephew of Plattsburgh, Carol Baker of Morrisonville, Brenda Baker of Plattsburgh, and Tammy and Mark Brow of West Chazy; a brother, Nelson Baker and his companion, Betty Matott, of West Chazy; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Dora and James Van Heuverzwyn of Plattsburgh and Betty and Charles Harvey of Franklin, N.H.; a sister-in-law, Catherine Baker of Plattsburgh; 10 grandchildren, David, Angie, Deneen, Amanda, Melissa, Joseph, Steven, Haley, Trevor and Tiffany; three great-grandchildren, Kayla, Austin and Skyler; and several nieces and nephews.

Russel was predeceased by his mother and father; a sister, Laura Gadway; and a brother, Robert Baker.

Calling hours will be Monday, May 27, 2002, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home in Plattsburgh. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Tuesday, May 28, 2002 at 2 p.m. from St. Joseph’s Church in West Chazy. Burial will follow in Ingraham Cemetery.

Donations in Russell’s memory may be made to the Kidney Dialysis Unit at CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh.

Catherine "Catie" H. LaMarque

SARANAC LAKE — Catherine "Catie" H. LaMarque, 62, died peacefully at her home on Trudeau Road in Saranac Lake on Saturday morning, May 25, 2002.

She was born Feb. 24, 1940, the daughter of Catherine H. LaMarque in Ticonderoga. She spent most of her life in the Tri-Lakes area where she made many friends. Her sparkling, vibrant personality will be missed by all.

She is survived by her brother, Tony Fortino and a sister-in-law, Phyllis, of Warrensburg, her Aunt Amelia Finnessey and Uncle Jim of Mobile, Ala., several nieces and nephews and many dear friends.

Funeral arrangements are in care of the Fortune-Keough Funeral Home in Saranac Lake.

Catherine’s family will receive friends from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Tuesday, May 28, at the Franklin County Trudeau Road ARC in Saranac Lake. A memorial service will follow at 1 p.m. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery in Ticonderoga on Wednesday, May 29, at 2 p.m.

Memorial contributions may be made to the High Peaks Hospice in care of the Fortune-Keough Funeral Home.

CLIFFORD J. REYELL, 72, died Friday, May 24, 2002, at the Clinton County Nursing Home in Plattsburgh.

He was born in Redford on April 10, 1930, the son of William and Lucy Miner Reyell.

There were no calling hours. A graveside service was held Sunday at the North Elba Cemetery in Lake Placid.
