Published 5/24/02Rosalie MonettePlattsburgh — Mrs. Rosalie Monette, 92, of the Meadowbrook Nursing Home and formerly of the Vilas Home died Thursday, May 23, 2002, at the CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh. She was born in Berlin, N.H., on Oct. 25, 1909, the daughter of Auile and Alexia (Brooks) Boulay. She was a member of St. Peter’s Church in Plattsburgh and St. Peter’s Rosary Altar Society. Rosalie is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Mitchell and Nancy Monette of Plattsburgh; two daughters and sons-in-law, Claire and Joseph Coughlin of Watertown and Patricia and Thaddeus "Ted" Piorek of Tilton, N.H.; one sister, Angela Boulay of Massachusetts; and one brother, Florian Boulay of Rhode Island. Rosalie is also survived by 14 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her husband, Mitchell Monette, who died in 1962; and several brothers and sisters. Calling hours will be Sunday, May 26, 2002, at the Brown Funeral Home in Plattsburgh from 7 to 9 p.m. only. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Monday, May 27, 2002, at 11 a.m. at St. Peter’s Church in Plattsburgh. Burial will take place on Tuesday, May 28, 2002, at 10 a.m. in St. Peter’s Cemetery. Masses may be said in her memory. Britta TerryDelray Beach, Fla., — Britta Furlong Terry, 91, died May 19, 2002, in Delray Beach, Fla., her home for the past two years. A native of Albany, she was a graduate of the Albany Academy for Girls and Wellesley College. Mrs. Terry was predeceased in 1995 by her husband, Donald M. Terry, with whom she lived first in Delmar then for many years in Plattsburgh and winters in Atlantis, Fla.; Her brother, W. Gordon Furlong of Menands, died in 1964. Devoted to her family, she is survived by her son, William F. Terry of Loudonville; her daughter, Phoebe T. Groff of Saratoga Springs and North Fort Myers, Fla.; three grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; a nephew; two nieces; a grandniece; and a grandnephew. "Cy" Sawyer, 66, of the River Road, Bloomingdale, died Wednesday, May 22, 2002, at the Adirondack Medical Center in Saranac Lake. He was born in Saranac Lake, N.Y., on Oct. 11, 1935, the son of Leo and Gladys (Manning) Sawyer. Visitation will be at Fortune - Keough Funeral Home, Inc. on Friday from 1 to 3 p.m. The funeral service will follow at 3 p.m. at the funeral home, with Rev. Timothy Soucy officiating. Burial will follow at St. Bernard Cemetery in Saranac Lake. Albert J. Baker, 75, of Champlain, died Wednesday, May 22, 2002, at his residence under the care of Hospice of the North Country. He was born in Rouses Point on Aug. 21, 1926, the son of Walter and Elizabeth (Barcomb) Baker. There will be no calling hours. A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at Riverside Cemetery in Mooers, with Rev. John Gillette, pastor of the Mooers Wesleyan Church, officiating. The E.F. Patnode, 74, of State Route 122, Constable, N.Y., died Wednesday evening, May 22, 2002, at the St. Regis Nursing Home in Massena, N.Y. She had been a resident there since Jan. 10, 2002. She was born in Huntingdon, Quebec, Canada, Dec. 29, 1927, the daughter of the late Ovila and Germaine Gauthier Myre. Calling hours will be Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Bruso-Desnoyers Funeral Home in Malone. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Saturday at 10 a.m. at St. Francis of Assisi Church in Constable, with the Rev. Garry Giroux officiating. PHYLLIS SWEET, 88, of Chateaugay, died Wednesday, May 22, 2002, at the Alice Hyde Medical Center, Malone, where she had been a patient since May 20, 2002.
