Ronald F. Dufort

Plattsburgh — Mr. Ronald F. Dufort, 58, of Tremblay Avenue, died suddenly on May 18, 2002.

He was born in Malone on Dec. 9, 1943, son of James and Mary (Brockway) Dufort.

Ron was a beloved and devoted husband, father, and son.

Ron was a graduate of Plattsburgh State in 1970. He was employed at Wyeth-Ayerst in Rouses Point for the last 30 years working in many capacities within the computer departments.

Ron participated in the Valcour Sailing Club and the Adirondack Humane Society. He was well known for his patience, diligence, and generosity. Ron was a hockey enthusiast and enjoyed sailing, photography, cooking and his pets.

He is survived by his parents; his wife, the former Mary Silvoy, whom he married on Sept. 14, 1968, in Saranac Lake; two sons, Jon Dufort of Albany and Ron Dufort of Rochester; five sisters and two brothers-in-law, Mary Diane Ethridge of Glens Falls, Carol McDonald of Malone, Karen Sligh of Alexandria, Va., Elizabeth "BJ" and Ronald Noreault of Malone and Nancy and Peter Henry of Rainbow Lake, and several nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be Tuesday, May 21, 2002, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Brown Funeral Home in Plattsburgh. A funeral service will be held Wednesday, May 22, 2002, at 1 p.m. from St. John’s Church in Plattsburgh. Burial will follow in the Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Plattsburgh.

Donations in his memory may be made to the Adirondack Humane Society, Inc. or the Alzheimer’s Association.

Ada F. Bracy

Chateaugay — Ada F. Bracy, 73, of the Healey Road, Chateaugay, died Sunday, May 19, 2002, at her home under the care of her loving family and Hospice of the North Country.

She was born in Chateaugay, N.Y., on Dec. 7, 1928, the daughter of Leonard and Edna (Cook) Porter.

She was married to Robert Bracy on Nov. 27, 1948, in Burke, N.Y.

Mrs. Bracy is survived by her husband of 53 years; four sons and two daughters-in-law, Roger Bracy and companion, Sue Quilliam of Chateaugay, N.Y., Reginald and Debbie Bracy of West Chazy, N.Y., Bruce Bracy of Chateaugay, N.Y., and Kevin and Diana Bracy of Chateaugay, N.Y.; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Rada Porter of Chateaugay, N.Y., and Iris and Edward Peckham of Milford, Conn.; a brother and sister-in-law, Bruce and Patricia Porter of Chateaugay, N.Y.; six grandchildren; four great - grandchildren

She was preceded in death by her parents; and grandson, Daniel Bracy.

Mrs. Bracy graduated from Chateaugay High School and following her marriage, she aided her husband in the operation of the family farm. She enjoyed gardening which included flowers and vegetables and taking long rides in the countryside.

She was a member of the Chateaugay United Methodist Church and the Bellmont Hi-Riders Snowmobile Club.

In her earlier years, she was a 4-H leader for the Chateaugay Club of Lads and Lassies, in which she took great pride in teaching kids how to show cows.

Friends and family are invited to a graveside service which will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, May 22, 2002, at Eastside Cemetery, Chateaugay. Following the committal prayers there will be a reception at the Knights of Columbus building in Chateaugay to celebrate and remember Ada’s life.

Donations in her memory may be made to the Hospice of the North Country, Chateaugay Fire Dept., American Heart Association, or American Cancer Society.

Arrangements are with the Chateaugay Funeral Home.

Lydia B. Wright

Bradenton, Florida — Lydia B. Wright, 96, formerly of Saranac and Plattsburgh, died on May 18, 2002, at her home in Golf Lakes in Florida.

She was born in 1905, the daughter of Jared and Minnie (Moore) Bowen of Saranac.

Much of her life was spent in Plattsburgh, with her husband of 67 years, William. She was a homemaker and mother, a member of the United Methodist Church and the NSDAR, as well as an active volunteer for several civic organizations.

The Wrights lived for 10 years in Granville, N.Y., where Bill served as NYSEG district manager, before their move to Florida in 1981.

Lydia is survived by her daughter, Evelyn Wright Sanger of Plattsburgh; son, William Wright of Neptune, N.J.; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her husband in 1998; and her sister, Julia Keysor of Saranac in 2001.

A private service will be held at graveside, in Saranac, at the time of interment.

Donna I. McRae, 54, of Cornelia Street, died Saturday, May 18, 2002, as a result of an automobile accident.

She was born in Cortland, N.Y., on March 31, 1948, the daughter of Donald and Irene (Hughes) McRae.

There will be no calling hours. A memorial service will be held Wednesday at 5 p.m. at the John XXIII Newman Center on Broad Street, with the Rev. J. Roger McGuiness officiating.

A complete obituary will be placed in Wednesday’s Press. Arrangements are by the Brown Funeral Home, Plattsburgh.

VICKI PELTIER, 65, died at her home at Keeseville Country Gardens Monday, May 20, 2002.

She was born in Salem, N.Y., on May 15, 1937, the daughter of Isadore (Ted) and Hazel (Johnson) Peltier.

After cremation her remains will be buried in Lakeview Cemetery, Willsboro, N.Y. Huestis Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

BACON — A graveside service will be held Thursday, May 23, 2002, at 1 p.m. at the Ogdensburg Cemetery in Ogdensburg, N.Y., for Mr. John Bacon, 79, of Cedar Lane, who died Sunday, Dec. 2, 2001, at his home.
