Published May 20, 2002Florence M. DuttonCADYVILLE — Florence M. Dutton, 73, of 2310 Route 3, Cadyville, died Sunday, May 19, 2002, at her home. She was born in Northport, Long Island, N.Y., on June 29, 1928, the daughter of George and Bertha (Smith) Pitcher. Florence married Richard Dutton on Sept. 23, 1951 in Northport, Long Island. With her husband, Dick, she owned and operated Finnan’s Fun Farm in Cadyville from 1970 to 1990, when they retired. Survivors include her husband; one son, Charles Byron Dutton and his wife, Gail, of East Northport, Long Island; one daughter, Lee-Ann Dutton of Potsdam; two brothers, Myron Pitcher and George Pitcher, both of East Northport; one sister, Bertha Connors and her husband, Richard, of Tampa Fla.; four grandchildren, Charles Dutton Jr., Richard S. Dutton II, Stephanie Dutton and Stephen Waldron; and one great-granddaughter, Alexis. Calling hours will be Tuesday, May 21, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the R.W. Walker Funeral Home in Plattsburgh. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 22, at the funeral home chapel. Burial will follow in the Cadyville Protestant Cemetery. Marie Kay DoxMALONE — Mrs. Marie Kay Dox, 81, of Malone, died May 19, 2002, at the Franklin County Nursing Home, where she had been a resident for the past two years. Born in Malone, April 17, 1921, she was the daughter of Arthur and Bertha Barton Kay. A 1939 graduate of Franklin Academy, she continued her education at UVM and the Malone School of Commerce. She was employed by Franklin County Central Printing and for the Franklin County Veterans Administration, and manager of the Yellow Door Craft Shop. On Sept. 14, 1946, she married Allister Dox at the Kay family home on 19 Highland Ave. in Malone. She was a member of the First Baptist and First Congregational Churches of Malone, a member and former officer of Elm City Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star, former Sunday School teacher and member of the Women’s Fellowship of the First Baptist Church, and member and volunteer of the Franklin County Historical Society. Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. John (Kay) Ray of Malone and Mrs. Brian (Bonnie) Curtin of Malone; one step-son, Bryan Elliott of Tewantin, Queensland, Australia; several cousins, among those locally, Shirley Parks Sponsel, Marion Barton Gibson, Elizabeth Barton Russell and Curtis Barton; a sister-in-law, Rea Chrisco of Victoria, Texas; two grandchildren, Mrs. Pamela Herman of Brushton and Mr. Sean Elliott of North Haven, Conn.; step-grandchildren, Mrs. Kathleen Kmen of Malone, Mrs. Kari Brooks of West Bangor, Mr. Brian Ray of West Bangor; and Andrew Elliott, Jason Elliott, Mrs. Rene (Melinda) Keinzel and Mrs. Michael (Bronwyn) Allen of Australia; and 16 grand-children. Friends and family may call Tuesday evening from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Spaulding Funeral Home in Malone. Funeral services will be 3 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Bell, 91, of Champlain, passed away Sunday, May 19, 2002, at the Cedar Hedge Nursing Home in Rouses Point. She was born May 29, 1910, in Sciota, the daughter of Walter and Elizabeth (Gebo) Duprey. Della was predeceased by her parents; her first husband, Edward W. Dupee; her second husband, Kenneth Bell; one son, William Dupee; one daughter, Lena Clausen; five grandchildren; on sister, Minnie McKie; and six brothers, Richard Duprey, Abram Duprey, Walter Duprey, Leo Duprey, Fred Duprey and Edward Duprey. Survivors include three sons, James and Catherine Dupee of Champlain, Russell Dupee of Champlain, John and Lynn Dupee of Champlain; five daughters, Betty Mae Babbie and her husband, Joseph, of Champlain, Jane Hemmingway of Champlain, Ruth Behan and her husband, Ernest, of Champlain, Verda LaValley of Mooers Forks, Viola Castine and her husband, Harold, of Champlain; six sisters, Ruby Geonyo of West Chazy, Mary Downs of Plattsburgh, Carrie Goss of Malone, Catherine LaForest of Plattsburgh, Delia Trombley of Plattsburgh, Rita Racette of Plattsburgh; 58 grandchildren, 103 great-grandchildren and several great-great grandchildren. Georgia A. LeClairMERRILL — Georgia A. LeClair, 77, of Merrill, died Thursday, May 16, 2002, at the East Pasco Medical Center in Zephyrhills, Fla. She was born in Ellenburg on July 19, 1924, the daughter of Rollie and Jennie Mary (Boyea) Williamson. She is survived by her husband, Walter E. LeClair; two sons, Barry LeClair of Brooklyn and Terry LeClair of Baltimore, Md.; a brother, Ross Williamson of Ellenburg Center; a sister, Mildred Baker of Chateaugay Lake; and two grandchildren, Danielle and Curtis LeClair. Calling hours will be held on Thursday from 10 a.m. to noon at the E.F. Drown Funeral Service in Ellenburg Depot. Funeral services will be held at noon Thursday from the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Joseph Wheelock officiating.
