Cecile A. Nugent

PLATTSBURGH — Cecile A. Nugent, 78, of George Street, Plattsburgh, died Tuesday, May 7, 2002, at the CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh.

She was born in Montreal, Quebec, Sept. 21, 1923, the daughter of Charles and Germaine (Blanchette) Boivin.

She was a homemaker and enjoyed knitting.

Survivors include two sons, Richard Nugent and Randy Nugent, both of Plattsburgh; one daughter and son-in-law, Sharon and Edwin Scheunemann of Plattsburgh; her mother, Germaine Benoit of Las Vegas, Nev.; two sisters, Dorothy Carrabine of Las Vegas, Nev., and Pauline Bushey of Burlington, Vt.; six grandchildren, Catherine Webb of Plattsburgh, Kenzie Nugent of Plattsburgh, Samantha Nugent of West Warwick, R.I., and Nicholas Nugent of West Warwick, R.I.; six great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her husband, Charles Nugent; her father; a grandson, Richard Nugent II; two brothers; and two sisters.

There will be no public calling hours. A graveside service will be held Friday, May 10, 2002, at 12 p.m. at St. Augustine’s Cemetery in Peru, with Rev. Vincente Jazmines, pastor, officiating.

Donations in her memory may be made to the American Heart Association or the American Diabetes Foundation.

Arrangements are with the Hamilton Funeral Home in Peru.

Kenneth J. Rabideau

OSKALOOSA, IOWA — Kenneth J. Rabideau, 66, of Oskaloosa, Iowa, died Tuesday, April 30, 2002, at his home.

He was born June 11, 1935, at Lyon Mountain, N.Y., to Clarence and Hazel (Collins) Rabideau.

He graduated from Dannemora High School in 1952. He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1952-1956.

He worked as a foreman in construction for many years, then worked for Carter Steel Supply and later for Kelderman Manufacturing. He than worked for the Chicago Northwestern Railroad as a train car repairman. Lastly he was a maintenance man at Pella Corp. in construction maintenance. In retirement, he was a maintenance man and a private pilot at Oskaloosa Airport.

On Oct. 3, 1975, he married Sharon Watters in Oskaloosa. He was a member of First Assembly of God Church and had gone on several mission trips to Costa Rica and El Salvador. He also was a Veterans of Foreign Wars member.

He enjoyed fishing and hunting, flying airplanes and his grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife, Sharon of Oskaloosa; four sons, Allen Butler of Sioux City, Iowa, Tom Rabideau and his significant other, Cindy Bossard of Oskaloosa, Mike (Janet) Stek of Fremont, Iowa, and Todd (Macheal) Rabideau of Moberly, Mo.; a daughter, Jenny (Less) Martin of Oskaloosa; 14 grandchildren; three brothers, Oswald Snider of Schuyler Falls, N.Y., Harold Rabideau of Crossville, Tenn., and Gerald Rabideau of Dannemora, N.Y.; two sisters, Esther Devins and Ruth Ann Dixon, both of West Chazy, N.Y.; his mother-in-law, Eva Faye Elder of Oskaloosa; his father-in-law, Arthur Laverne Watters of Omaha, Neb.; and a special cousin, Salvador Salazaar of Pompeno Beach, Fla.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and a sister, Verna Ayotte.

Calling hours and a funeral service were held in Oskaloosa. Burial was in Henness Cemetery near Oskaloosa, with military honors

Karen "K.J." Martin Rose, 52, of State Highway 812, Ogdensburg, N.Y., died Monday afternoon, May 6, 2002, at the New England Medical Center, in Boston, Mass. She had been a patient there since March 16, 2002.

She was born in Malone, N.Y., June 18, 1949, the daughter of the late Frederick N. And Vivian B. (Montville) Martin.

Calling hours will be Friday from 5 to 9 p.m. at the Bruso-Desnoyers Funeral Home in Malone. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Saturday at 10 a.m. at St. Helen’s Cemetery.

Sister Anita Marie Turcotte, also known as Sister Mary of the Rosary, 87, of the Mt. Sacred Heart Convent, passed away at the convent Sunday morning, May 5, 2002, after a long illness.

She was born in Hartford, Conn., daughter of Fernand and Corrine (Martin) Turcotte.

A Wake will take place at the convent on Monday evening and all day Tuesday. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at the Mt. Sacred Heart Chapel, Littleton, N.H., on Wednesday, May 8, 2002, at 9:30 a.m. and burial will take place in the St. Mary’s Cemetery, Newport, Vt., at 1 p.m. in the afternoon. The Ross Funeral Home, Littleton, N.H., is in charge of arrangements.

Bernice E. Craig, 81, of Dickson Point Road and Perthshire Lane, Ft. Meyers, Fla., died Monday, May 6, 2002, at the Lee Memorial Health Park Medical Center in Ft. Meyers, Fla.

Calling hours will be held Friday, May 17, 2002, at the R.W. Walker Funeral Home in Plattsburgh. Funeral arrangements and a full obituary will be published at a later date.

LEWIS — A memorial service has been set for Edward "Jimmy" Lewis, 68, formerly of Overlook Apts., Bloomingdale, N.Y., who died Monday, March 11, 2002, at Mercy Health Center Facility in Tupper Lake. Funeral arrangements are in care of Fortune-Keough Funeral Home in Saranac Lake. A memorial Mass will take place at 11 a.m. Thursday, May 9, 2002, at St. Bernard’s Church in Saranac Lake, with Rev. Shane Lynch officiating. Interment will be in Church of the Visitation Cemetery in Norfolk on Friday, May 10, 2002, at 11 a.m.
