He was born in Plattsburgh, N.Y., on Nov. 22, 1946, the son of Jess P. and Leona (Parrotte) Jacobsen. Survivors include his father, Jess P. Jacobsen of Plattsburgh, three sisters and brothers - in - law, Eleanor and Donald Durocher of Beekmantown, Shirley and Ralph Emby of Yarker, Ontario, and Mary Jane and James Conway of Orlando, Fla.; and several nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, May 7, 2002, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the R.W. Walker Funeral Home in Plattsburgh. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Wednesday at 10 a.m. in St. Peter’s Chapel. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery. Smith, 75, of Furnace Road, Moriah died Saturday, May 4, 2002, at the Community Hospital, Elizabethtown, N.Y. He was born at Saratoga Springs, N.Y., on April 12, 1927, the son of William and Esther (Swift) Smith. He was retired from National Lead Co. Tahawus, N.Y., after 25 years. He was a 28 year member of the Moriah Fire Department and Veteran of World War II. He is survived by His wife, Luella (Hughes) Smith; his daughters, Marion and Allen Smith of Ticonderoga and Esther and Peter McKown of Moriah; his sons, William J. Smith and Sue of Witherbee, Henry and Cheryl Hughes of Tennessee and daughter-in-law, Kim Smith and Dale Rafferty of Ticonderoga; his sisters, Alice and Paul Ebert of Ballston Spa, N.Y., and Esther Merrill of Ballston Spa; his brother-in-law, Oscar and Pauline Hughes of Crown Point; 11 grandchildren; five great - grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Napoleon Arthur "Panky" Pinsonnault Jr.Napoleon Arthur "Panky" Pinsonnault Jr. Born Dec. 21, 1924, Plattsburgh, N.Y., son of the late Napoleon Pinsonnault Sr. and Anna Lamora. Pank was a graduate of Mount Assumption Institute. He served in the U. S.. Navy as a radioman from 1943 to 1946 on the USS Piedmont. He was a mail carrier for the Plattsburgh Post Office for 36 years, retiring 1984. He was a member of the Million Mile Club receiving awards for driving 33 consecutive years without an accident. After his retirement, he worked as a driver for the Meals on Wheels Program. He was a member of the Elks Club and a communicant of Our Lady of Victory Church. Pank will always be remembered for his good nature, kindness, his sense of humor and the sparkle in his eye. He was a loving husband, a generous and devoted brother, a father whose love knew no bounds and a proud grandfather. He enjoyed trips to New York City to see the Yankees play, bowling, music, and spending time with his friends and family. He has always been a source of inspiration to those who loved him. His family loved him dearly and will cherish their many happy memories of him Pank is survived by his wife of 50 years, Marjory McManus Pinsonnault; his six children and their families, Judy Pinsonnault and her husband, Bob Pablo of East Greenbush, N.Y., Robert Pinsonnault and his wife, Darlene Boule of Beekmantown, N.Y., Kim Sullivan and her husband, Jim Sullivan of Morrisonville, N.Y., Kerry Crew and her husband, Charlie Crew of Philadelphia, Pa., Patti Danis and her husband, Bob Danis of Underhill, Vt., and Bernie Pinsonnault and his wife, Cindy Pinsonnault of Houston, Texas. He is also survived by six grandchildren, Erik Pinsonnault, Elena Pablo, Joshua and Kelsey Sullivan, Brian Crew and Rachel Danis; and a sister-in-law, Doris Pinsonnault of Plattsburgh. He was predeceased by his parents; his brother, Walter; his sisters, Bertha, Yvonne, Rita, and Thelma; his beloved grandson, Nicholas Pablo; a niece, Carol; and nephew, Buddy. Smith, 91, of 11 Brookview Drive and formerly of Richmondville, N.Y., died Saturday, May 4, 2002, at his home surrounded by his family, friends and pets. He was born in Richmondville, N.Y., on Nov. 8, 1910, the son of Floyd and Leola (Sisson) Smith. On June 24, 1933, Wilmer married Mary Frayer at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Richmondville. They had been married for 55 years when Mrs. Smith died in 1988. He graduated from the Agricultural and Life Science Department of Cornell University in 1931. Wilmer owned and operated a dairy farm in Richmondville until 1966 when he moved to Plattsburgh and became the owner of the Snug Harbor Motel on Lake Shore Road., Route 9 South, Plattsburgh until 1981. He also was a dispatcher for Fort Edward Express Co. in Plattsburgh and an electrician in the Vermont area. While in Richmondville he served as president of the school board, was town supervisor, was a member of the Farm Bureau, was a 58-year member of Cobleskill Lodge 394, Free and Accepted Masons, a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church and the Church Council of St. Paul’s While in Plattsburgh he belonged to the Lutheran Church of the Redeemer where he held several offices. He belonged to the North Country Squares and Northern Lights Square Dance Clubs. Wilmer was an avid reader, loved telling jokes and loved his family and friends. Survivors include two daughters, Barbara Fitzwilliam of Plattsburgh and Allison Bode and her husband, Paul, of Schenectady; a grandson, James Fitzwilliam and his wife, Julie, of Poughkeepsie, N.Y.; a granddaughter, Dr. Kelly Tamburello and her husband, Dr. Anthony Tamburello, of Bel Air, Md.; and two great-grandchildren, Benjamin and Diana Fitzwilliam. He is also survived by two sisters, Marion Moot of Richmondville and Marjorie Friend of Delhi, N.Y.; and several nieces and nephews. Calling hours at the Mereness-Putnam Funeral Home, 171 Elm St., Cobleskill, N.Y., will be on Tuesday, May 7 from 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral services will be Wednesday, May 8, 2002, at 11 a.m. at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church. Burial will follow in the Richmondville Rural Cemetery. Local memorial services will be announced at a later date. Donations in his memory may be made to Hospice Care of the North Country. |
