Shields, 49, of the Trudeau Road, Cadyville, N.Y., died Thursday, April 11, 2002, at CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh, after an 11 year battle with breast cancer. She was born on Aug. 9, 1952, in Elmira, N.Y., the daughter of Arthur and Marielle LeFevre. Karen is survived by her loving husband, Brian Shields; and two beautiful children, Michael Francis and Janell Ann. Karen was a devoted, loving wife and mother. Karen is also survived by her- parents, Arthur and Marielle (Pellerin) LeFevre; her siblings, Stephen LeFevre and wife, Nancy, Jennifer Merrill and husband, Keith, Daniel LeFevre and wife, Maryann, Susan Wright and husband, Raymond, Mary LeFevre and companion, Steve Sayward, Joseph LeFevre and wife, Nancy and Allan LeFevre and wife, Christina; as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. Karen was a graduate of Saranac Central High School, class of 1971. Karen was a communicate of both St. Joseph’s Church in Dannemora and St. James Church in Cadyville. Karen was employed by Twinstate Voice Data Video for 14 years. Previous to this, she worked for CVPH Medical Center for 15 years. Karen loved and was loved by her family and many friends. She took great joy in providing for her family, entertaining, traveling, and cooking. She will be especially remembered as a creative and talented cook. Karen was a compassionate, forgiving and loving person who touched everyone in her life in a special and meaningful way. Karen and Brian especially enjoyed their 18-year tradition of socializing with longtime friends at a monthly dinner club shared with the Greens, Ramsdells and the Peacocks. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Breast Cancer Research Foundation or to the family to set up a scholarship fund. Charles J. CarrPeru — Mr. Charles J. Carr, 77, of Route 9, Peru and Punta Gorda, Fla., passed away Thursday, April 11, 2002, at the CVPH Medical Center. He was born in Mt. Vernon, N.Y., on March 15, 1925, the son of Charles J. and Edith (Gibeau) Carr. Charles was a veteran of World War II serving in the U.S. Marine Corps. He made landings on the Marshal Islands, Saipan and Tinian in the Marianas Islands and Iwo Jimo. He worked for New York State Electric and Gas retiring in 1987 as a U. C. & M. foremen after 41 years of service. He is a life member Fourth Marine Division Association, Erie Chapter 40 of the Marine Corps. League, Loyal Order of Moose Lodge 2121 of Port Charlotte, Fla., Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks 2606 Punta Gorda, Fla. In his retirement, he enjoyed playing golf, fishing and traveling. He was an avid NASCAR fan. Charles was predeceased by his first wife, Peg Hamelin who died in 1975. He is survived by his wife, Cecilia (Scrime) Carr of Peru and Punta Gorda, Fla.; seven daughters and their spouses, Susan and Mike Lawson of Peru, Nancy and Glenn Elmore of Lousia, Virginia, Janice and Dick Gumtow of San Diego, Calif., Betty and Larry Ebare of Rouses Point, Judy and Kenny Otis of Cornwall, Pa., Toma and Mickey Mattot of Mooers Forks and Joni Styles and her companion, Chris Barcomb of Plattsburgh; a stepdaughter, Stephanie and Jorge Riveros of Longmont, Colo.; a stepson, David Lavigne and his companion, Sara Sharp of Peru; a brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Dorothy Carr of Plattsburgh; fourteen grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two nieces and two nephews. Wilson, 36, of Rugar Street, died Wednesday, April 10, 2002, at his home. He was born in Tuscon, Ariz., on May 13, 1965, son of Kenneth and Doris (Harper) Wilson. David was a graduate of Beekmantown Central School in 1983 and attended college at SUNY Plattsburgh and Cortland. After traveling widely he returned to Plattsburgh to pursue his teaching degree at SUNY Plattsburgh, where he was also an employee. Anyone who knew David is aware that the recent accusations against him were false. He was a kind and gentle man. He enjoyed traveling, hiking, and camping. David is survived by his mother, Doris (Harper) Wilson of Plattsburgh; a brother and a sister-in-law, Charles and Teresa of Florence, S.C.; three nephews, Charles Jason, Michael and Johnathon all of Florence, S.C.; several aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends, all whom will mourn his tragic death. He is predeceased by his father, Kenneth D. Wilson who died in 1999. A memorial Mass will be celebrated Saturday, April 13, 2002, at 2 p.m. from Our Lady of Victory Church in Plattsburgh. Burial will follow in the St. Peter’s Cemetery. Donations in his memory may be made to any charity for children. Eleanor L. BuckleyMorrisonville — Eleanor L. Buckley, 90, of Morrisonville, died Wednesday, April 10, 2002, at the CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh. She was born in Buffalo, N.Y., on Dec. 6, 1911, the daughter of Michael and Martha (Apel) Meyer. She was a communicant of St. Alexander’s Church in Morrisonville and was also a member of the St. Alexander’s Altar - Rosary Society and the Knights of Columbus Council 6067 Ladies Auxillary. She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, William N. and Paiwen Buckley of Edgewater, Md.; five daughters and two sons-in-law, Mary Ann and William Orchard of Morrisonville, Helen Buckley of Arlington, Va., Kathleen Deal of Kouts, Ind., Dolores and Gary Foote of Manchester N.H., and Cecilia Pekar of Ballston Spa; 16 grandchildren; and many great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Her husband, Emmett Buckley died on Sept. 13, 1996, and a daughter Otilda Meyer also died in 1996. Calling hours will be held on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the O’Neill - Redden - Drown Funeral Home in Plattsburgh. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Monday from St. Alexander’s Church in Morrisonville. Interment will follow in the parish cemetery. Covington, N.Y., passed away Friday morning, April 12, 2002, at the Fletcher Allen Health Care Facility in Burlington, Vt., where she had been a patient since March 28, 2002. She was born in Malone, N.Y., on Dec. 30, 1930, a daughter of the late Wilfred and Pearl (Robideau) Robert. There are no calling hours. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Saturday, April 20, 2002, at 10 a.m. in St. Mary’s Church, Ft. Covington, with the Rev. Kris Lauzon, pastor, officiating. Girsdansky, 69, of Greenwood Street, died Wednesday, April 10, 2002, at the Adirondack Medical Center in Saranac Lake after a short illness. Mr. Girsdansky was born Jan. 29, 1933, in New York City to Joseph and Anne Minnerly. Calling hours will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. on Saturday, April 27, 2002, at the Clark Funeral Home 27 Saranac Ave., Lake Placid. A memorial observance will follow at the funeral home. Burial will be in the North Elba Cemetery.
