Published 4/11/02Roger R. "Archie" ToloskyLebanon PA. — Roger R. "Archie" Tolosky, 78, of Lebanon Pa., died unexpectedly Tuesday, April 9, 2002, at his home. He was born in Dannemora, N.Y., on May 1, 1923, the son of Joseph and Margaret (Vincent) Tolosky. He was a 1950 graduate of Muhlenberg College in Allentown, Pa., where he received his bachelor of arts in education. He was a teacher and coach at St. John’s Academy in the early 1950’s. He then went to work for Gardner Denver Co. until his retirement in 1983 after 30 years of service. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, and was a member of the American Institute of Mining Engineers (A.I.M.E.) for 22 years. Roger is survived by his wife of 54 years, Doris (Nulf) Tolosky; three daughters, Karen Bingel and her husband, William of Plattsburgh, N.Y., Cheryl Jo Finley and her husband, John of Levittown, Pa., and Kathleen Keeler and her husband, James, of Levittown, Pa.; one son, Bradford Tolosky and his wife, Patricia of Levittown, Pa.; one brother, Donald Tolosky and his wife, Helen of Lyon Mountain, N.Y.; one sister-in-law, Jeanne Tolosky of Moriah, N.Y.; eight grandchildren, Amanda and Curtis Bingel, Erin and David Tolosky, Ben and Luke Finley and Travis and Adam Keeler. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins. Besides his parents, Roger was predeceased by one son, David V. Tolosky; and a brother, Joseph Tolosky Jr. Calling hours will be Thursday, April 11, 2002, from 7 to 9 p.m. and Friday from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. at the James J. Dougherty Funeral Home, 2200 Trenton Rd., Levittown, PA 19056. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Friday at 10 a.m. at the Queen of the Universe Church in Levittown. Donations may be made to the charity of the donors choice, or Masses may be said in his memory. Kathryn M. JarvisWinter Haven, Fla. — Kathryn M. Jarvis, 79, formerly of Keeseville, died Monday, April 8, 2002, at the Fort Meyers Nursing Home in Fort Meyers, Fla. She was born in Keeseville, Aug. 20, 1922, the daughter of George and Julia (Fault) Delorme. She married Arthur J. Jarvis at St. John’s Church in Keeseville. He died Oct. 18, 2001. Mrs. Jarvis was a bookkeeper on the Plattsburgh Air Force Base for several years prior to her retirement. She enjoyed helping at St. John’s Church working with crafts and traveling with her husband following their retirement. Survivors include nieces and nephews, Max and Joe Blaise of Rochester, David and Diane Delorme of Keeseville, Judy Law of Keeseville, Andy and Kathy Blaise of Dansville and several other nieces and nephews; one brother-in-law, Bernard and Helen Jarvis of Peru; and one sister-in-law, Catherine and Richard Thompson of Keeseville. She was predeceased by her parents; her husband; a brother, Johnny Delorme; a sister, Dorothy Law; and a niece, Leona Plambeck. Calling hours will be held Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Hamilton Funeral Home in Keeseville. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Saturday at 10 a.m. at St. John’s Church in Keeseville, with Rev. Garvin Demarais, pastor, celebrating. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery. Donations in her memory may be made to the St. John’s Church Roof Restoration Fund. Allan B. WilsonPLATTSBURGH — Allan B. Wilson, 68, of Maryland Road and formerly of Mooers, died Tuesday, April 9, 2002, at the CVPH Medical Center. He was born in Plattsburgh on Nov. 4, 1933, the son of Walter and Isabelle (Fitch) Wilson. Allan married Mary Weaver July 1, 1989, at the United Methodist Church in Brownville. Mr. Wilson is a member of the United Methodist Church of Plattsburgh and former member of the Mooers Volunteer Fire Department. Allan was a installer of floor covering for many years for area businesses. He also was a Vocational Instructor for the New York State Department of Corrections. Survivors include his wife, Mary Weaver of Plattsburgh; one daughter, Donna J. Smith of Champlain; four sons and three daughters-in-law, Mark and Laurie Wilson of Clarksville, N.Y., Robert and Ellie Wilson of LaFargeville, N.Y., Peter and Sheryl Wilson of LaFargeville, N.Y., and Timothy Wilson of LaFargeville, N.Y.; three stepchildren, Thomas and Debra Manos of Watertown, N.Y., Diane and Christopher Leone of Brownville, N.Y., and Ronald and Marsha Manos of Cadiz, Ky.; one sister, Helen Seller of Plattsburgh; 15 grandchildren; and one great - grandson; and several nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be held Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., with the R.W. Walker Funeral Home in Plattsburgh. A funeral service will be held on Friday at 1 p.m. the United Methodist Church of Plattsburgh. Burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery in Mooers. Memorial donations may be made to the United Methodist Church of Plattsburgh Memorial Fund. Sylvia Baker, 78, of Ashley Road, North Bangor, N.Y., died Tuesday afternoon, April 9, 2002, at the Alice Hyde Nursing Home in Malone. She had been a resident there since March 12, 2002. She was born in Cromer, Norfolk, England, April 17, 1923, the daughter of the late Cornelius and Bridget (Kido) Leveridge. There are no calling hours. A funeral service will be held Friday at 10 a.m. in the Bruso - Desnoyers Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Thomas E. Davis officiating. Burial will be in the North Bangor Protestant Cemetery. |
