Published 4/9/0MARY LOU BAKER BELLPLATTSBURGH — Mary Lou Baker Bell, 79, passed away April 6, 2002, in Plattsburgh. She was a 40 year resident of Colorado Springs, Colo., and moved to Plattsburgh in 1997. She was born Dec. 23, 1922, to Quin Kenneth Baker and Mary Helen (McQuaid) Baker in Sapulpa, Okla. She graduated from New York University in 1944, with a bachelor of art in business. She was chosen to the NYU Student Hall of Fame and "Who’s Who in Collegiate America". She graduated in 1947 from West Virginia University with a master of arts in sociology. After graduation she taught junior high and worked for Colgate Palmolive Peat. Survivors include three sons and one daughter, Eric Bell and wife, Jari of Breckenridge, Colo.; Douglas Bell and wife, Carole of Phoenix, Ariz.; Keith Bell of Republic, Wash.; Susan Nevard and husband, Barrett of Plattsburgh; grandchildren, Micah Nevard and Lance and Stephanie Schlager; sister, Shirley Cannon of Kansas City, Kan.; brother, Quin Baker and wife, Jane of Houston, Texas, and David Baker of San Francisco, Calif. Zweeres, 78, a resident of Champlain, N.Y., since 1975, and a former longtime resident of Highgate, Vt., passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, April 6, 2002, in Champlain. He was born in St. Albans, Vt., Aug. 10, 1923, the son of the late Roland and Elizabeth (McCarthy) Zweeres. On May 31, 1975, he married Katherine T. Glaude in St. Mary’s Church in Champlain, N.Y. Wallace retired in 1988 from Boise Cascade Paper Manufacturer in Sheldon Springs, Vt., where he was a cost accountant. He attended the University of Vermont and graduated from Burlington Business college. He served as a volunteer at St. Mary’s Mission Center in Champlain and enjoyed reading and collecting books, especially about World War II. Wallace’s only near relative is his dear wife of nearly 27 years, Katherine. He also leaves some cousins. A memorial service will be held in St. Mary’s Mission Chapel in Champlain, N.Y., at a time to be announced. He will be interred in the McCarthy family lot in Highgate Center Cemetery. Bandy, 72, of the Farrar Adult Home and formerly of Pearl Street, Malone, N.Y., died Sunday evening, April 7, 2002, at the Fletcher Allen Health Care Facility in Burlington, Vt. She was born in Malone, Nov. 24, 1929, the daughter of the late Noah J. and Mary (McMahon) LeBlanc. Calling hours will be Thursday from 9 to 9:45 a.m. at the Bruso - Desnoyers Funeral Home in Malone.
