Published 3/29/02Lillian Gertrude CastineCHAMPLAIN — Lillian Gertrude Castine, 63, of the Lavalley Road, Champlain, died Tuesday, March 26, 2002, at the Brigham & Women’s Hospital in Boston, Mass., surrounded by her family. She was born in Mooers Forks, N.Y., on May 22, 1938, the daughter of Mose and Irene (Rowe) Manor. Lillian was a loving and caring mother, grandmother, friend and former member of the Catholic Daughters. She resided in Texas, Albany, N.Y., Orleans, France, Champlain, N.Y., and Plattsburgh, N.Y., before settling again in Champlain, N.Y., in 1991. Survivors include her husband of 11 years, John "Curly" Castine of Champlain; her four daughters, Crystal and Bruce Bulriss of Mooers, Carmen Coupal and her husband, Roland Davison of Point Au Roche, Holly Coupal of Rouses Point and Angela Coupal of Champlain; her two grandsons, Keith and Anthony Bulriss; her sister, Nettie and Victor Rabideau of Mooers Forks; two brothers, Thomas and Marie Manor of Mooers Forks and Edmund Manor and his companion, Jane Pearson of Hammond, N.Y.; and numerous nieces and nephews. She will be missed by her little companion, Benji. She was predeceased by her mother, Irene Manor on Oct. 27, 1988; her father, Mose Manor on May 1, 1981; her first husband and father of all her children, Medard Joseph Luke Coupal, on Jan. 17, 1973. Calling hours will be held Saturday, March 30, 2002, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Clark Funeral Home in Champlain. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Mary’s Church in Champlain on Monday, April 1, 2002, at 11 a.m. The family will receive guests at the Mooers Fire Department immediately following the funeral. RabideauEllenburg Depot — Edith D. Rabideau, 69, died Thursday, March 28, 2002, at the CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh. She was born in Dannemora on July 13, 1932, the daughter of Louis and Helen (Garrow) Agoney. She is survived by three sons, Roy Rabideau of Dannemora, Ed Rabideau and Lawrence Rabideau, both of the Plank Road; a daughter, Star Eldred of Chazy Lake; two brothers, Franklin Agoney and John Agoney, both of the Plank Road; three sisters, Beatrice Shea of Ellenburg, Ruth Goddeau of Morrisonville and Theresa Haley of Utica; and several grandchildren; great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be held on Monday from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the E.F. Drown Funeral Service in Ellenburg Depot. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 1 p.m. Monday from St. Joseph’s Church in Dannemora. Interment will be in the parish cemetery at a later date. Kathryn M. Arell, 76, of Salmon Street, Ft. Covington, passed away Thursday morning, March 28, 2002, at her home under the care of her family and Hospice of the North Country. She was born in Ft. Covington, N.Y., on March 2, 1926, the daughter of Gladys Harvey. Calling hours will be Monday, April 1, 2002, in the Cappiello-McKenzie and Cosgrove Funeral Home in Ft Covington, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A Mass of Christian burial will be held Tuesday, April 2, 2002, at 10 a.m. in St. Mary’s Church in Ft. Covington, with the Rev. Kris Lauzon, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in the parish cemetery later in the spring. |
