Published 3/28/02Lillian Gertrude CastineCHAMPLAIN — Lillian Gertrude Castine, 63, of the Lavalley Road, Champlain, died Tuesday, March 26, 2002, at the Brigham & Women’s Hospital in Boston, Mass., surrounded by her family. She was born in Mooers Forks, N.Y., on May 22, 1938, the daughter of Mose and Irene (Rowe) Manor. Lillian was a loving and caring mother, grandmother, friend and former member of the Catholic Daughters. She resided in Texas, Albany, N.Y., Orleans, France, Champlain, N.Y., and Plattsburgh, N.Y., before settling again in Champlain, N.Y., in 1991. Survivors include her husband of 11 years, John "Curly" Castine of Champlain; her four daughters, Crystal and Bruce Bulriss of Mooers, Carmen Coupal and her husband, Roland Davidson of Point Au Roche, Holly Coupal of Rouses Point and Angela Coupal of Champlain; her two grandsons, Keith and Anthony Bulriss; her sister, Nettie and Victor Rabideau of Mooers Forks; two brothers, Thomas and Marie Manor of Mooers Forks and Edmund Manor and his companion, Jane Pearson of Hammond, N.Y.; and numerous nieces and nephews. She will be missed by her little companion, Benji. She was predeceased by her mother, Irene Manor on Oct. 27, 1988; her father, Mose Manor on May 1, 1981; her first husband and father of all her children, Medard Joseph Luke Coupal on Jan. 17, 1973. Calling hours will be held Saturday, March 30, 2002, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Clark Funeral Home in Champlain. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Mary’s Church in Champlain on Monday, April 1, 2002, at 11 a.m. The family will receive guests at the Mooers Fire Department immediately following the funeral. DudleyKeeseville — Louise R. Dudley, 86, of the Meadowbrook Nursing Home in Plattsburgh and formerly of Keeseville Country Gardens, died Tuesday, March 26, 2002, at the CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh. She was born in Riverview, July 23, 1915, the daughter of David and Ida (Facteau) Rule. She married Gordon F. Dudley, Dec. 7, 1940, in Saranac Lake. He died Dec. 31, 1967. Mrs. Dudley enjoyed hook rugs, ceramics, and drawing. Survivors include close friends, Joe and Theresa Bray of Plattsburgh and Dorothy Ferguson of Keeseville; and several nieces and nephews. There will be no public calling hours. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Friday, April 19, 2002, at 10 a.m. at St. John’s Church in Keeseville, with Rev. Garvin Demarais, pastor, celebrating. Burial will be in the Pine Ridge Cemetery in Saranac Lake. Donations in her memory may be made to the charity of one’s choice. Raymond Hale, 77, formerly of Greta Howe’s Lane, Beekmantown, died Sunday, March 24, 2002, at the Claxton-Hepburn Hospital in Ogdensburg. He was born in Plattsburgh on Feb. 11, 1925, the son of Kenneth and Lucille (Premore) Hale. Ray was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Navy, serving on minesweeper and destroyers on convoy duty in the Atlantic. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 125, Plattsburgh, a member of the Carpenters and Joiners Union 1042 for 50 years retiring in 1984. He was a life member and past exalted ruler of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks Plattsburgh Lodge 621. Ray was a member of St. Alexander’s Church in Morrisonville and charter member of the Fun Timers Square Dance Club. He was a 25 year member of the Morrisonville Fire Department. Ray was predeceased by his parents and his wife, Barbara Rocque. Ray is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Kenneth "K. C." and Patricia Hale of Ogdensburg and Brian and Pamela Hale of Dallas, Texas; three grandsons, Michael Hale, Daniel Hale and Eric Hale; a stepgranddaughter, Karri Hollis; and numerous nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. from the Brown Funeral Home in Plattsburgh. A funeral service will be held Friday morning at 10 a.m. from St. Alexander’s Church in Morrisonville. Burial will at a later date in the parish cemetery. Members of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks Plattsburgh Lodge 621 are asked to meet Thursday evening at 7:30 p.m. for services.
