Robert E. Webster Sr.

PERU — Robert E. Webster Sr., 56, of Glendado Drive in Peru, died Sunday, March 3, 2002, at the CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh.

He was born in Latham, Jan. 19, 1946, the son of William and Winifred (Barrett) Webster.

Robert married his best friend and the love of his life, the former Helen B. Peter, on Sept. 27, 1969, at Our Lady of Angels Church in Albany.

An in country Vietnam veteran, he served in the U.S. Air Force for more than 24 years. He retired in 1990, having achieved the rank of SMSgt. After working for several years as a chef at numerous area restaurants, he most recently was the manager of the Dunkin Donuts shops in Peru and the Skyway Plaza.

He enjoyed fishing and camping, as well as spending time with his family, especially his granddaughter, Emily.

Survivors include his wife, Helen (Peter) Webster of Peru; one son and daughter-in-law, Robert E. Webster Jr., and Erica Higgins-Webster of Rotterdam; one daughter and son-in-law, Jennifer and Curt Tugaw of Bunnlevel, N.C.; one granddaughter, Emily Tugaw; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Barbara and Allen Jennings of Michigan and Kathryn Prividera-Eaton and David Eaton of Latham; one brother and his lifelong companion, Roger Webster and M.J. Dehkan of New York City; and several nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be held Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the Hamilton Funeral Home in Peru. A prayer service will be held at the funeral home at 2 p.m., with Rev. Vicente Jazmines, pastor of St. Augustine’s Church in Peru, officiating. Following a memorial service Thursday at Calvary United Methodist Church in Latham at 2 p.m., burial will be at 3 p.m. at Memory’s Garden Cemetery in Albany.

In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the Peru Rescue Squad or the American Heart Association.

Jane (Sayre) Eddy

WILLSBORO — Jane (Sayre) Eddy, died Sunday, March 3, 2002, at Meadowbrook Nursing Home in Plattsburgh, N.Y.

She was born Nov. 15, 1919, in Montclair, N.J., to Frank and Grace (Wilcox) Sayre.

She grew up in Princeton and Montclair, N.J. Following high school, she attended Maryland Women’s School.

In 1947, she married John Eddy and lived for many years in Niskayuna, N.Y. In 1994, she and her husband moved to Willsboro, N.Y., where they had always enjoyed their summers together.

An excellent mother and grandmother, she had a love of people and animals. She enjoyed knitting, crossword puzzles, traveling and talking with people. She had a big heart and was accepting of all people, always finding the good in everyone.

She is survived by her husband, John Eddy; two daughters and a son-in-law, Carol (Eddy) and Steve Valachovic of Willsboro, N.Y., and Patricia Mallalieu of Raleigh, N.C.; one son and a daughter-in-law, Robert and Kathy Mallalieu of Westchester, Pa.; her dog, Kari; seven grandchildren; 4-1/2 great - grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

She was recently predeceased by two brothers, James W. Sayre and Bernard Sayre.

There will be no public calling hours. Private memorial services will be held by the family at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the North Country SPCA (P.O. Box 475, Westport, NY 12993) or the Willsboro Rescue Squad.

Huestis Funeral Home in Willsboro, N.Y., is in charge of arrangements.

Agnes R. Ormsby

Plattsburgh — Agnes R. Ormsby, 87, of Meadowbrook Nursing Home, passed away on Monday, March 4, 2002, after a brief illness at Meadowbrook Nursing Home.

She was born in Saranac on Oct. 3, 1914.

Agnes was a seamstress and homemaker. She enjoyed sewing, her children and grandchildren.

Agnes is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Evelyne and Harris Merrill of Peru and Frances and William Garrow of Peru; two brothers and sisters- in-law, David and Evelyn Davidson of Plattsburgh and Robert and Naomi Davidson of Saranac; a sister, Mildred Chase of Morrisonville; many grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; many great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Agnes was predeceased by her husband, Hubert Ormsby; her daughter, Gertrude Allen; her brother, Edward Davidson; and her sisters, Lillian LaMora and Phyllis Seymour.

Calling hours will be Wednesday, March 6, 2002, from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Brown Funeral Home in Plattsburgh. A funeral service will be held at 4 p.m. from the funeral home chapel. Burial will follow in Whispering Maples Mausoleum in Plattsburgh.

Donations in her memory may be made to Meadowbrook Health Care Facility in Plattsburgh.

Ann J. Boprey

Elizabethtown — Ann J. Boprey, 70, of Horace Nye Home in Elizabethtown, formerly of the ARC in Port Henry, died Sunday, March 3, 2002, at CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh.

She was born in Clintonville N.Y., July 29, 1931, the daughter of Joseph L. and Mabel (Arney) Boprey.

She is survived by two brothers, Lawrence W. Granish of Hampton, Va., and Gerald M. Boprey of Clintonville, N.Y.; three sisters, Jean M. Coolidge of Keene, N.Y., Mary Alice Boprey of Albany, N.Y., and Kathleen B. Howard of Poughkeepsie N.Y.; several nieces and nephews; several grandnieces and nephews; and one great-grandnephew.

She was predeceased by her parents; and two brothers, Edward L. Granish and Robert L. Granish.

Calling hours will be held Tuesday, March 5, 2002, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at W.M. Marvins Sons Funeral Home in Elizabethtown. A funeral service will be held Wednesday, March 6, 2002, at 10 a.m. also at the funeral home. Services will be conducted by Rev. Fred Shaw of the United Church of Christ. Burial will be hold in the spring in Fairview Cemetery in AuSable Forks.

Donations in Ann’s memory may be made to the Essex County ARC in Port Henry NY 12974 or to the Horace Nye Home in Elizabethtown, NY 12932.

Gertrude May (Owen) Williams, passed away Saturday, March 2, 2002, at the Ellenville Regional Hospital in Ellenville, N.Y.

She was born in Keene, N.Y., to Julia (McLean) and Herbert Owen on Jan. 18, 1917.

There will be no calling hours at her request. Burial will be at the convenience of the family in the Evergreen Cemetery in Keeseville, N.Y.
