Ronald Martin Premo

Brant Lake — Ronald Martin Premo, 54, formerly of Lansingburgh, died Monday, Feb. 18, 2002, after a brief illness.

He was born June 17, 1947, in Plattsburgh, the son of Iris and Irene (Rabideau) Premo of the town of Troy.

Ron attended Troy High School and served in the U. S. Navy from 1966 to 1970 as a machinery repairman on the USS Los Alamos in Scotland.

He obtained a bachelor of science in Criminal Justice from Empire State College in 1975.

He was employed by the State of New York since 1972 and at the time of his death, he was a senior investigator in the Department of Law, Attorney General’s Office in Albany and Plattsburgh, where he distinguished himself as an aggressive and tenacious investigator.

Ron was passionately involved in many civic and sports organizations including the All-Troy Athletic Club, Armory Little League, most recently Horicon Youth Commission, Town of Horicon Zoning Board, he was- adjutant of American Legion Post 964 in Chestertown.

He is predeceased by two nephews, Eric and Jason Coker.

Survivors besides his parents include his Wife, Cindy (Jacques) Premo of Brant Lake; Two sons, Mathieu Alexander and Philip Martin Primeau of Athens, N.Y.; one daughter, Bridget Fox of Glasgow, Scotland; one brother, Raymond Premo and his wife, Barbara of Troy; four sisters, Barbara Primeau of Greenwich, Bernice Primeau of Pilot Mountain, N.C.; Betty Murphy of Watervliet and Brenda Premo of Troy.

In addition, Ron was the loving and devoted "Uncle Ron" as well as father figure, advisor, confidante, counselor and friend to all of his nieces and nephews, who will surely miss him.

Memorial services and American Legion services will be held at noon Friday, Feb. 22, 2002, at Barton - McDermott Funeral Home, 9 Pine St., Chestertown, NY. Relatives and friends may call from 11 a.m. prior to services at the funeral home. Private interment will be at the Gerald B.H. Solomon - Saratoga National Cemetery, 200 Duell Rd., Schuylerville. After services Friday friends and relatives are invited for refreshments at the Ole Poor House, Rte 8, Chestertown.

Rodney S. Lagree

Dannemora — Rodney S. Lagree, 43, of Loon Lake, died Monday, Feb. 18, 2002, at the family residence in Dannemora.

He was born in Plattsburgh, N.Y., on Jan. 13, 1959, the son of Leon and Bernice M. (Bourey) Lagree of Dannemora.

Rodney was a 1977 graduate of Dannemora High School and a 1979 graduate of SUNY Delhi.

He was a correction officer at Bare Hill Correctional Facility.

He loved fishing, golfing and Loon Lake.

Rodney was predeceased by his mother, Bernice Lagree; and a brother, Robert Lagree.

He is survived by his longtime companion, Diane Bombard; his father, Leon Lagree of Dannemora; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Linda and Ted Luck of Plattsburgh and Lisa and Mike Meyer of Indiana; two brothers and sisters - in - law, Roger and Debbie Lagree of Bloomingdale and Richard and Rochelle Lagree of Rochester; a sister-in-law, Mary Gates of Indiana; 16 nieces and nephews; and many wonderful friends.

Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, Feb. 20, 2002, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the O’Neill - Redden - Drown Funeral Home in Plattsburgh. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Thursday at 11 a.m. from St. Joseph’s Church in Dannemora. Burial will be in the parish cemetery in the spring.

Donations may be made in his memory to Hospice of the North Country.

Herman V. Bigelow

Willsboro — Herman V. "Bud" Bigelow, 79, died Monday, Feb. 18, 2002, at CVPH Medical Center.

He was born in Boquet, N.Y., on Dec. 18, 1922, the son of Ralph and Doris (Palmer) Bigelow.

Mr. Bigelow was a member of the Willsboro United Methodist Church and the Keeseville BPOE 2072.

Bud was a self employed farmer and logger. He loved the outdoors, where he did a lot of hunting, fishing, trapping and water-skiing. He and his wife of 57 years also loved to dance to the music of LoneStar (Serge Bouchard).

He is survived by his wife, Catherine (Palmer); a son, Ronald Vincent Bigelow of Whallonsburgh and a son and his wife, Phillip Brian and Connie Bigelow of Cumberland Head; a daughter, Gaylen Melton of Lewis; grandchildren, Mike and his wife, Wanda Bigelow of Willsboro, Mark Bigelow of Whallonsburgh and Andrew and Jennifer Melton of Lewis; brothers, Robert and his wife, Arleen Bigelow of Willsboro and Donald "Red" and his wife, Fae of Whallonsburgh; sister and her husband, Phyllis and Philip Bancroft of Apopka, Fla.; sisters-in-law, Adelaide Pierce of Elizabethtown and Ethel Doyle of Willsboro; numerous nieces and nephews and cousins; and a close friend and pinochle partner, Tony Glebus and the "Diner Crew."

Calling hours will be held Wednesday Feb. 20, 2002, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Huestis Funeral Home in Willsboro. Funeral services will be held Thursday Feb. 21, 2002, at 11 a.m. at the Willsboro United Methodist Church. Burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery in the spring.

Memorial donations in his memory may be made to either the Willsboro Rescue Squad or the Willsboro United Methodist Church.

Isabell A. Dukett

Plattsburgh — Isabell A. Dukett, 84, of Rand Hill Road, died at her home, Monday, Feb. 18, 2002.

She was born May 21, 1917, in Plattsburgh, N.Y., the daughter of Robert and Alma (Wolf) Jaquish.

She worked for the Keene Valley Neighborhood House and Champlain Valley Physicians Hospital as a nurses aid for many years.

She enjoyed knitting and homemaking.

She is predeceased by her husbands, Calvin Marble of Keene and George Dukett of Saranac Lake.

She is survived by two daughters, Beverly O’Connor of Keene and Bobbie Scales of Plattsburgh; her sister, Thelma Tryon of Westport; two grandchildren, Lynn Nicholl of Gouverneur, Michael Micanko Sr. of Plattsburgh, five great - grandchildren, Tyler Nicholl, Trevor Nicholl, Michael Micanko Jr., Julie-Ann Micanko and Steven Micanko; and several nieces and nephews.

Services will be held at the convenience of the family.

Donations in her memory may be made to the American Heart Association, 21 Plattsburgh Plaza, Plattsburgh, NY 12901.

Clarence J. Besaw

Mountain View, N.Y. — Clarence J. Besaw, 63, of the Pearsall Road, Mountain View, N.Y., died unexpectedly Monday night, Feb. 18, 2002, at the Alice Hyde Medical Center in Malone, N.Y.

He was born in Peru, N.Y., April 23, 1938, the son of the late Fred and Mirilda (LaRose) Besaw.

He attended Peru Schools.

He served in the U.S. Army and was honorably discharged.

In 1964, he was united in marriage to the former Downa Lamere. The marriage ended in divorce. In 1988, he was united in marriage to the former Catherine "Kitty" McCoy Pearsall in Castleton, N.Y. She survives.

For many years, Mr. Besaw was employed by Pepsi Cola. He later worked for the Town of Schodack Highway Department for several years. He retired in 1988. He and his wife moved to Mountain View in 1997.

He enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping, boxing, baseball and his tractor. He also enjoyed spending time with his wife and family.

Along with his wife, he is survived by one daughter and son in law, Cindy and Jonathan Strack of Keeseville, N.Y.; three stepsons, Joseph Pearsall and his wife, Holly of New Fairfield, Conn., Jason Pearsall of Ben Salem, Pa., and Harry and Dana Pearsall of Mountain View; two stepdaughters, Kelly Wasson and her husband, Dale of Winfield, Kan., and Michelle "Shelly" Pearsall of Mountain View; and several other stepchildren; one sister and brother in law, Sandra and Donald Hendricks of Litchfield, Minn.; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Robert and Winnie Besaw of Plattsburgh, N.Y., Ronald and Nancy Besaw of Keeseville, N.Y., and Gary and Diana Besaw of Plattsburgh; six grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, he was predeceased by three stepsisters, Kathleen Honey, Virginia Wray and Grace Martin.

There are no calling hours. Funeral services will be private and at the convenience of the family.

Donations may be made in his memory to the Owls Head - Mountain View Volunteer Fire and Rescue Department.

Arrangements are through the Bruso-Desnoyers Funeral Service, Inc. of Malone.

Daniel F. Crossman, 80, formerly of South Street in Ticonderoga, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 19, 2002, at the Moses - Ludington Nursing Home of Ticonderoga.

Arrangements are incomplete at this time and are under the direction of the Wilcox & Regan Funeral Home of Ticonderoga. A full obituary will appear in tomorrow’s paper.

William Creighton, 68, of Ft. Covington, N.Y., passed away Tuesday, Feb. 19, 2002, at the Fletcher Allen Health Care Facility in Burlington, Vt., where he had been a patient since Jan. 30, 2002.

He was born in Ft. Covington, N.Y., on Oct. 15, 1933, the son of the late William D. And Beatrice (MacDonald) Creighton.

Calling hours will be in the Bombay United Methodist Church in Bombay, N.Y., on Friday, Feb. 22, 2002, from 10 a.m. until the time of funeral services at noon. The Rev. Donald Alexander, pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in the spring.

Arrangements are through the Cappiello-McKenzie and Cosgrove Funeral Home in Ft. Covington.
