Henrietta W. Badger

Ticonderoga — Henrietta W. Badger, 87, of Calkins Place, passed away Thursday, Feb. 14, 2002, at the Moses - Ludington Nursing Home of Ticonderoga.

She was born in Canada at Trout River, Quebec, on Oct. 3, 1914, the daughter of the late Henry T. and Elizabeth T. Wilson.

She attended a local one room school, Huntingdon Academy in Huntingdon, Quebec, and Notre Dame Normal School in Montreal, Quebec.

She married James A. Badger on Jan. 5, 1932, in Malone, N.Y. They just celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary.

Mrs. Badger was a member of the Episcopal Church of the Cross of Ticonderoga, where she was an active member for almost 50 years. She served on the Altar Guild and for seven years was the directress.

She was a 50 year, lifetime member of the Elm City Chapter Eastern Star 469 of Malone, N.Y.

Besides being a homemaker, Mrs. Badger enjoyed flower gardening and painting with water colors. She grew beautiful African Violets.

She was predeceased by her youngest daughter, Dorcas Liberty on Aug. 18, 1985.

Survivors include her husband of 70 years, James A. Badger; and two daughters, Sheila Rice of Talbott, Tenn., and Marcia Badger of Paul Smiths, N.Y.; She is also survived by nine grandchildren and 10 great - grandchildren.

Relatives and friends may call Sunday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Wilcox & Regan Funeral Home, 11 Algonkin St., Ticonderoga. A Requiem Eucharistic Mass will be celebrated Monday at 11 a.m. at the Episcopal Church of the Cross of Ticonderoga. The Rev. Marjorie J. Floor, rector, will officiate. Interment will take place in the spring at the family plot of the Valley View Cemetery of Ticonderoga.

Paula M. Giroux

Chazy — Miss Paula M. Giroux, 76, formerly of Route 9, passed away Wednesday Feb. 13, 2002, at the Meadowbrook Health Care Facility.

She was born in Plattsburgh on Oct. 18, 1925, the daughter of Wilfred and Corine (Guay) Giroux.

Paula enjoyed being out of doors, gardening, making fudge and playing cards.

She was a member of Sacred Heart Church in Chazy.

She is survived by three brothers and two sisters-in-law, Leo and Theresa Giroux of Plattsburgh, Royal P. and Anita Giroux of Chazy, and Roger Giroux of Chazy; three sisters and two brothers-in-law, Pauline Fisher of Chazy; Marguerite and Rodney Collins of Chazy and Marie and Henry "Sam" Labine of Nashua, N.H.; a sister-in-law, Alma Giroux of West Chazy; and several nieces and nephews.

Paula was predeceased by her parents, Wilfred and Corine Giroux; and a brother, Sarto Giroux.

Calling hours will be Friday from 2 to 5 p.m. at the Brown Funeral Home in Plattsburgh. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Saturday at 11 a.m. from Scared Heart Church. Interment will follow in the family plot in Sacred Heart Cemetery.

Friends wishing may make donations to the Activities Department at Meadowbrook Health Care Facility or have Masses said in her memory.

Eleanor L. Bleaux

Plattsburgh — Mrs. Eleanor L. Bleaux, 80, of Eleanor Way, passed away unexpectedly Friday, Feb. 13, 2002, at her home.

She was born in Lakewood, N.Y., Aug. 17, 1921, the daughter of the late James and Lois (Jones) Russell.

Eleanor was a licensed practical nurse and served stateside during World War II and later came to Plattsburgh to complete her training.

It was here she met her husband, Floyd J. Bleaux. They were married for 54 years until his death on Sept. 7, 2000.

Eleanor, along with Floyd founded and operated the Adirondack Nursing Home for many years and later developed properties for apartment rental which they managed together throughout their lifetimes.

She was a member of Our Lady of Victory Church.

Eleanor, for those who knew her, was a gracious, kind, quiet woman who loved to read and enjoy life’s quiet moments. However, she could render an opinion when she felt it was necessary.

She is survived by four sons and three daughters-in-law, Rev. Floyd "Jerry" Bleaux, pastor of Our Lady of Victory Church in Plattsburgh, Chris and Carol Bleaux of Plattsburgh, Thomas and Debbie Bleaux of Plattsburgh and Gregory and Delores "Dee" Bleaux of Nashua, N.H.; five daughters and four sons-in- law, Julianna and Ronald Lord of Miami, Fla., Sandy and Tom Caron of Plattsburgh, Maria and David Sanchez of Hollywood, Fla., Antoinette Scott of Hollywood, Fla., and Laurie and Harlan Desotelle of Auburn, N.Y.; 14 grandchildren; two great - grand- children; and several nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Brown Funeral Home in Plattsburgh. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Saturday at 1:30 p.m. at Our Lady of Victory Church with her son, Rev. Floyd "Jerry" Bleaux, pastor, celebrating the funeral mass. Interment will be at a later date in St. Peters Cemetery.

Friends wishing may make donations to the Adirondack Humane Society.

EVELYN SHAMBO, formerly of AuSable Forks, died Feb. Sunday, 10, 2002, in East Peoria, Ill.

Cremation will be performed. Graveside services will be held at a later date to be announced at Holy Name Cemetery in Au Sable Forks.

Zaumetzer-Sprague Funeral Home will be in charge of local arrangements.

GARY D. ENSIGN, 58, of Littleton, Colo., died Saturday, Feb. 2, 2002, at his home in Littleton, Colo.

He was born Feb. 24, 1943, in Plattsburgh, the son of the late Donald Ensign and Audrey J. (St. John) Allen.

Military services took place at Fort Logan Cemetery in Colorado.

EDGAR A. MARLOW, 86, of Bean Road in Malone, N.Y., died Thursday, Feb. 14, 2002, at his home under the loving care of his family and Hospice of the North Country.

He was born Oct. 1, 1915, in Whippleville, N.Y., the son of William and Lumina (Desparois) Marlow.

Calling hours will be Friday, Feb. 15, 2002, from 7 to 9 p.m. in the St. Mary-Murphy Funeral Home chapel. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Saturday, Feb. 16, 2002, at 10 a.m. in Notre Dame Church, with Rev. Scott Seymour officiating. Spring burial will take place in Notre Dame Cemetery.
