Published 2/13/02Carolyn M. BressettePlattsburgh — Carolyn M. Bressette, 57, of the Blake Road, died Monday, Feb. 11, 2002, at the CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh. She was born in Willsboro, July 13, 1944, the daughter of Leo P. Sr. and Emily Mae (Riley) King. Mrs. Bressette was not only a daughter, sister, grandmother and mother, most of all she was an honest and true friend. She volunteered for a time at St. Vincent DePaul in Peru. She enjoyed fishing and playing bingo. Survivors include three daughters and sons-in-law, Dorien L. and Patrick A. LaDuke Sr. of Mooers, Christine "Chrissie" and Brian D. Waite of Gansevoort and Sara J. and Robert G. Duval of Plattsburgh; one son and daughter-in-law, Donald H. Jr. and Melissa J. Bressette of Plattsburgh; six grandchildren, Jessica M. LaDuke and fiancé, John Juneau, Patrick A. LaDuke, Jr., Savannah L. Neuberger - Waite, Ryan R. Duval, Brandi M. Duval and Tyler J. Bressette; one great-grandson, Brady J. Juneau; her former spouse and friend, Donald H. Bressette Sr. of Keeseville; two brothers and one sister-in-law, John King of Arlington Heights, Ill., and Leo P. and Sylvia King of Keeseville; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Harriet and Eugene Robare of Willsboro and Mary and Robert Hanley of Keeseville; and several nieces and nephews, relatives, and close friends. She was predeceased by her parents; three brothers, Leonard King, Lewis King and William King; and sisters, Barbara Archer and Elizabeth Hart. There will be no public calling hours. A gathering will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at the home of her daughter, Sara Duval, on Blake Road in Plattsburgh. Arrangements are with the Hamilton Funeral Home in Peru. Jefferson DavisPort Henry — Jefferson Davis, 69, of Broad Street, died Monday, Feb. 11, 2002, at Elizabethtown Community Hospital surrounded by his family and friends. Jeff was born in Rensselaer, N.Y., on Nov. 29, 1932, the son of Emery and Madeline Davis. He is predeceased by two sisters, Shirley Savage and Bernietta Smith; his parents; and his stepfather, Ray Bisaillon. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Myrna Davis of Port Henry; three sons and their spouses, George "Butch" Davis of San Antonio, Texas, Robert "Skip" Davis and his wife, Liz of Houston, Texas, and 1st SGT. Jeffery Davis and his wife, Marie of Fort Hood, Texas; two daughters and their spouses, Michel and Cordis Clevenger of Galion, Ohio, and Linda and Dixon Williams of Moriah, N.Y.; His special nephew, Tom Poolet and his wife, Angela and his daughter "of the heart", Pamela Thompson and her husband, Alan; two sisters, Wren Hanson of Ticonderoga, N.Y., and Suzy Kemp of Schenectady, N.Y.; and numerous nieces and nephews. Jeff is survived by 11.5 grandchildren, Melissa, Melody, Katherine, Kristina, Kimberly, Karmen, Cody, Elaine, Thomas, Caitlin, Ian and the baby-to-be for which he was looking forward to spoiling; and five great - grand -children, Cameron, Zoe, Michael, Amanda, Hailey. MSGT Jeff Davis retired from the U.S. Air Force in 1971 after serving his country for 22 years. He did tours in North Africa, Germany, Japan, Korea, Bermuda and various bases in the United States. He was very proud of his military career. He also retired in 1985 from hauling steel throughout the US for over 20 years. His greatest gift to his children was the chance to see the world with him. Always teaching them to be the best they could be, be patriotic and to always try to help others in need. His greatest enjoyments were talking to people, anywhere and anytime, and spoiling Caitlin and Ian. After cremation, there will be a memorial service at Harland Funeral Home in Port Henry on Thursday, Feb. 14, 2002, at 10 a.m., which will be conducted by Father Ted Monica. Hart, 70, of Keeseville, N.Y., and Crystal River, Fla., died Friday, Feb. 8, 2002, in Ocala, Fla. He was born in Keeseville, N.Y., Sept. 11, 1931, the son of the late Arthur J. Hart and Grace (Miller) Hart Kinch. He was self employed for many years and operated the BP Service Station on U.S. Avenue in Plattsburgh, N.Y., and Mobile Service Station in Willsboro, N.Y. until his retirement. He is survived by his loving companion, Shirley Brean of Country Gardens in Keeseville, N.Y., and West Robin Lane in Crystal River, Fla.; three sons, Karl A. Hart, of La Costa Drive, Clifton Park, N.Y., Donald A. Hart of Buffalo, N.Y., and Bryan Hart of Black River, N.Y., and one daughter, Michelle Roby, of Willimantic, Conn.; one sister, Alma Dennis; one brother and sister-in-law, Sherwood and Nancy Hart all of Keeseville, N.Y.; Two brothers-in-law, Ernest Pasho of Keeseville, N.Y., and Lloyd Stevens of Willsboro, NY.; Also survived by nine grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife, Isabelle (Duquette) Hart; his father, Arthur J. Hart, mother, Grace (Miller) Hart Kinch; four sisters, Viola Lamere, Emma Pasho, Rosemary Watrous and Shirley Stevens; and two brothers, James A. Hart and George Hart. Helen (Tiers) HoughtonPonte Vedra Beach, Fla. — Helen (Tiers) Houghton, 93, a resident of Vicar’s Landing, Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla., died Sunday, Feb. 10, 2002, at Hospice House in Vero Beach, Fla. Mrs. Houghton was born April 2, 1908, in Pasadena, Calif., the daughter of William Twells and Alice Welsh Tiers, was raised in Philadelphia, Pa. Mrs. Houghton studied art for two years in Florence, Italy, and attended for two years the School of Industrial Art in Philadelphia, Pa. She had been a well known water-color artist in Vero Beach, the Boston area and the north-east Adirondack region having exhibited in these areas on many occasions. She married July 21, 1928, to Henry Arnold Houghton in Essex, NY, where they had both had spent their summers since childhood. Mr. Houghton died in 1998. They resided in Charles River village section of Needham, Mass., until Mr. Houghton’s retirement in 1965, when they moved to Vero Beach. Mrs. Houghton is survived by a daughter, Kingsley Dolan of Villanova, Pa., and Vero Beach Fla.; a son, Christopher Houghton of Shaftsbury, Vt.; and 10 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. A son, Lindley Silas Houghton died in 1985. A memorial service will be held at a later date in Essex, N.Y., at the convenience of the family. HEALEY, 85, of Palm Tree Drive in Windermere, Fla., died Sunday, Feb. 11, 2002, at Lucerne Medical Center in Orlando, Fla. He was born in Lyon Mountain, N.Y., the son of Samuel and Grace (Jones) Healey. A memorial service will be held at a later date in the chapel of Woodlawn Funeral Home in Orlando. RICHARD A. MESAROLE, 75, formerly of Riverside Drive in Saranac Lake, died Friday, Feb. 8, 2002, at Uihlein Mercy Center in Lake Placid. He was born in Queens, N.Y., on Dec. 13, 1926, the son of Joseph and Helen (Olson) Meserole. A memorial service will be held Saturday, Feb. 16, 2002, at 11 a.m. at the Saranac Lake Baptist Chapel, with Pastor Harold Clark officiating.
