Gary A. ‘Peanut’ Baker

SARANAC LAKE — Gary A. "Peanut" Baker, 46, of 17 Shepard Ave., died Saturday, Feb. 9, 2002, at Adirondack Medical Center in Saranac Lake.

Born in Saranac Lake on April 24, 1955, he was the son of Clyde and Mary (Duffy) Baker Sr.

Visitation will be at Fortune-Keough Funeral Home Inc. on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A Bible vigil will be held Tuesday at 8 p.m. A Mass of Christian burial will be held Wednesday at 11:15 a.m. at St. Bernard’s Church with the Rev. Timothy Soucy officiating. Burial will be in St. Bernard’s Cemetery in Saranac Lake in May.

Friends wishing to remember Mr. Baker may make memorial contributions to St. Joseph’s Rehabilitation Center in care of the funeral home.

Lillian Paye

SARANAC LAKE — Lillian Paye, 78, formerly of 20 Church Street, died Saturday, Feb. 9, 2002, at Uihlein Mercy Center in Lake Placid.

Born in Saranac Lake on Oct. 8, 1923, she was the daughter of William and Ida (Wilkins) Harvey Sr.

She was predeceased by her first husband, Edmund J. Woodard. She married Harold E. Paye on Dec. 31, 1970. He predeceased her on Jan. 28, 2000. Mrs. Paye was a lifelong resident of Saranac Lake. She had been employed by J.J. Newberrys for 16 years and later for other various businesses in Saranac Lake. She was a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary and the Foster Grandparent program in Tupper lake.

She is survived by a son, Charles Woodard of Saranac Lake; a son and daughter-in-law, Edumund and Linda Woodard of Saranac Lake; one daughter and son-in-law, Marlene and Thomas Mull of Plattsburgh; 11 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; and a sister-in-law, Mrs. Moreland (Bessie) Flagg. She was predeceased by a grandson, Edmund Woodard; a great-granddaughter, Kendra Woodard; five brothers, Monroe Flagg, Moreland Flagg, LeRoy Harvey, William Harvey Jr. and Charles Harvey; and two sisters, Mildred (Flagg) Casgrove and Geraldine (Harvey) Esopa.

Visitation will be at Fortune-Keough Funeral Home Inc. on Monday from 1 to 3 p.m. The funeral service will follow at 3 p.m. at the funeral home with Father Patrick O’Reilly officiating. Interment will be in the St. Bernard’s Cemetery in Saranac Lake in May.

Friends wishing to remember Mrs. Paye may make memorial contributions to Saranac Lake Volunteer Fire Department or High Peaks Hospice in care of the funeral home.

Muriel S. Gleason

NIAGARA FALLS — Muriel S. Gleason, 66, of Panama Street died Saturday, Feb. 9, 2002, at home, after a long illness. Born in Plattsburgh on March 7, 1935, she was the daughter of the late Chester and Catherine (Martineau) Bushey. Muriel lived in Plattsburgh where she attended Plattsburgh High School.

Muriel worked 30 years for the Georgia Pacific and Nytec Paper Corporation in Niagara Falls as a production worker. Mrs. Gleason was a member of the VFW Auxiliary and the Beekmantown Fire Department’s Ladies Auxiliary in Plattsburgh. She was an avid bowler and bingo player. She married Howard J. Gleason on Sept. 28, 1963.

She was the wife of Howard J. Gleason; mother of Patrick (Denise) Gleason, both of Niagara Falls, Howard T. (Kimberly) Gleason of Kentucky, Patricia A. (Peter) VanDerhoff of Schenectady, Mary Lou (Carl) Boehm of Niagara Falls, Robin (Ronald) Sesnie of Wheatfield; stepmother of Thomas M. (Georgianna) Peabody of Bridgeport, W. Va.; sister of Thomas (Florence) Bushey, Malcolm Bushey, Bernard (Linda) Bushey, Dolores (Lawrence) Rivers, Eleanor (Paul) Ghenoiu, Roxie (Leo) Deyo, Judy Raml, Donna (Gerald) Nephew, all of Plattsburgh, Marion Lytle of Syracuse, Shirley (Anthony) Cerullo Mass, the late Wilford and Ruth Bushey, Gertrude Fletcher, and Margaret LaFountain. She is survived by eight grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation is Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Otto Redanz Funeral Home, LaSalle Park Chapel, 2215 Military Road, Niagara Falls. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Tuesday, Feb. 12, at 9:30 a.m. at St. Leo’s R.C. Church, with the Rev. David Griffin officiating. Burial will be in Gate of Heaven, Lewiston, N.Y. Memorial may be made to Niagara Hospice 4675 Sunset Drive, Lockport, N.Y. 14094.

BEATRICE M. DELARM, 89, of Malone, died Sunday, Feb. 10, 2002, at the Alice Hyde Nursing Home.

Born in Malone on March 4, 1912, she was the daughter of the late Alexander and May Cherrier Champine.

There are no calling hours. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Tuesday at 10 a.m. at Notre Dame Church in Malone. The Notre Dame Altar Rosary Society is asked to be present for the Mass. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery in the spring.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to Hospice of the North Country Inc. in Malone.

Arrangements are through the Bruso-Desnoyers Funersl Service Inc. of Malone.

DAVIS,C. AUBREY, 81, of Burke died Friday, Feb. 8, 2002, at Venice Hospital in Englewood, Fla.

Born on May 31, 1920, in Chateaugay, he was the son of George and Maude (Ellitte) Aubrey.

A memorial service will take place later at the convenience of the family.

Donations in his memory may be made to the Burke United Methodist Church or the Burke Volunteer Fire Department.

Arrangements are with the Chateaugay Funeral Home.

LEWIS K. HAYNES, 35, of Oak Street, Plattsburgh, died Tuesday, Feb. 5, 2002.

He was born in Albuquerque, N.M., on May 16, 1966, the son of Harold and Leena (Winterbon) Haynes.

A private funeral service will be held at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are with the Brown Funeral Home in Plattsburgh.

RAYMOND C. HAYWARD, 94, died Saturday, Feb. 9, 2002, at the Uihlein Mercy Center, where he had resided since Dec. 22, 1998.

He was born in Salem, Wis., March 27, 1907.

Friends may call the Clark Funeral Home in Lake Placid on Monday, Feb. 11 from 1 to 2 p.m. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Steven Mills, pastor of the Pilgrim Holiness Church, officiating. Burial will follow at the North Elba Cemetery in Lake Placid.
