Marie M. Goddeau

CADYVILLE — Marie M. Goddeau, 85, of Route 3, died Tuesday January 29, 2002, at the CVPH Medical Center.

She was born in Redford on Oct. 19, 1916, the daughter of Frederick and Victoria (LaPan), St. Louis.

Marie married Elmer Goddeau of Saranac at St. Peter’s Church on August 12, 1939.

She was a member of St. Peter’s Parish of Plattsburgh.

Survivors include two sons and two daughters-in-law, Robert and Lucy Goddeau of Rouses Point and Kevin and Brenda Goddeau of Plattsburgh; One daughter, Nancy Goddeau of Cadyville and North Bangor; two stepbrothers, Edgar St. Louis of Cohoes, N.Y., and Leonard St. Louis of Schenectady ; two grandchildren, Ashlee and Kasey Goddeau of Plattsburgh; and several cousins, nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her husband on April 26, 1988, and two brothers, Joseph St. Louis and Bernard St. Louis.

Calling hours will be held on Friday, Feb. 1, 2002, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the R.W. Walker Funeral Home in Plattsburgh. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Saturday at 1 p.m. at St. Peter’s Church. Entombment will follow in Whispering Maples Memorial Gardens on Tom Miller Road in Plattsburgh.

At the request of the family masses may be made in her memory.

Miriam (Fleig) Behr

Willsboro, N.Y. — Miriam E. Behr, 73, of Hilton Terrace in Willsboro, N.Y., died in Elizabethtown Jan. 30, 2002, after a long illness.

She was born in Brooklyn, N.Y., Feb. 15, 1928, the daughter of Louis and Mary (Lambe) Fleig.

She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Henry; three daughters and their husbands, Barbara and Theodore Urban of Hicksville, N.Y., Elaine and Richard Knobel of Saranac Lake, N.Y., and Rosemarie and Geoffrey Dubrowsky of Washington Township, N.J.; two sons and their wives, Lawrence and Jayne Behr of Hicksville, N.Y., and Christopher and Michelle Behr of Wading River, N.Y.; 10 grandchildren, Theodore Urban III and his wife, Jeannemarie of Hicksville, N.Y., JeanneMarie Vidil and her husband, Richard of Eatontown, N.J., Kristie Rae and Richard "Ricky" Knobel of Saranac Lake, N.Y., Michael and Carolyn Behr of Hicksville, N.Y., and Katelyn, Connor and Tyler Behr of Wading River, N.Y.; also two brothers and their wives, George and Lucille Fleig of East Stroudsburg, Pa., and William and Mariolina Fleig of Bonita Springs, Fla.

She was predeceased by her parents.

Miriam was raised in Glendale, Queens, N.Y., where she met Henry as a teenager and they were married upon his discharge from the Navy in 1947.

She was a graduate of the Mary Louis Academy in Jamaica Estates, N.Y., an honorary lifetime member of PTA of America, a member of Court St. Joan of Arc, Catholic Daughters of America and the Altar Rosary Society of St. Philip of Jesus Roman Catholic Church in Willsboro.

Miriam was also a former queen of the Willsboro Golden Agers. In former years, she was an avid camper, a member of the Seagull Chapter of the Family Campers and RVers and the Timberland Traveleers.

Calling hours will be held Friday, Feb. 1, 2002, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Huestis Funeral Home, Maple Street, Willsboro. The Catholic Daughters will meet at 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 2, 2002, at St. Philip’s Church, Main Street, Willsboro. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery in the spring.

In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to St. Philip’s Church or North Country Hospice, 386 Rugar Street, Plattsburgh, NY.

Irene M. Gagnier, 82, of Dannemora, died Wednesday, Jan. 30, 2002, at her residence.

Arrangements were incomplete Wednesday evening at the O’Neill-ReddenDrown Funeral Home in Plattsburgh.
