Published 1/29/02Robert L. "Bob" Arno Sr.Plattsburgh — Robert L. "Bob" Arno Sr., 66, of Lake Shore Road in Plattsburgh passed away Monday, Jan. 28, 2002, at the CVPH Medical Center. He was born Dec. 26, 1935, in Ellenburg, the son of the late Alvin H. and Loretta (Herbert) Arno. On July 15, 1957, he married Barbara Greiner in St. John’s Catholic Church in Pawling, N.Y. He was a long time member of Waldo Grange in Wingdale, N.Y., and West Chazy Grange in West Chazy. He was employed at Harlem Valley Psychiatric Center in Wingdale, N.Y., and also Bard - Parker Surgical Instrument Company in Danbury, Conn. In 1972 he moved to Plattsburgh when he purchased a dairy farm. He retired in 1998 due to illness. He is survived by his wife, Barbara (Greiner); a daughter, Susan Barrett and her husband, Tom; a son, Robert L. Arno Jr.; two granddaughters, Tori and Sierra Barrett both of Plattsburgh; two brothers, Donald Arno of Plattsburgh and Gerald Arno and his wife, Jane of Champlain,; one sister, Theresa; several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be Tuesday, Jan. 29, 2002, from 5:30 to 8-30 p.m. at the Clark Funeral Home in Champlain. A funeral Mass will be held Wednesday, Jan. 30, 2002, at 11 a.m. from St. Mary’s Church in Champlain. "Dick" Ayotte Sr. 75, of Steams Apartments passed away Sunday, Jan. 27, 2002, at the CVPH Medical Center. He was born in Cadyville, N.Y., on Feb. 28, 1926, the son of Ovila and Edith (Riel) Ayotte. Richard had worked as a truck driver for various firms. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Frances (O’Dell) Ayotte of Morrisonville; three daughters, Lillian Ayotte and Leona Carter both of Cadyville and Michelle Ayotte of Morrisonville; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Richard and Connie Ayotte Jr. of Cadyville and Charles Ayotte of Port Henry; five grandchildren, Nathan Ayotte, Joshua Ayotte, Rebecca Ayotte, Stephen Carter and Jeremy Carter all of Cadyville; two sisters, Esther Reyell of Plattsburgh and Clara Agoney of Canton; and several nieces and nephews. Richard was predeceased by a daughter, Melody Ann in infancy; and two brothers, Donald and Mitchell Ayotte. Calling hours will be Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Brown Funeral Home, Park Row Cadyville. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Wednesday at 10 a.m. from St. Joseph’s Church in Dannemora, with the Rev. John Looby, pastor, celebrating. Interment will be at a later date in St. Joseph’s Cemetery. William M. LasherMORRISONVILLE — William M. Lasher Sr., 74, of Kent Falls Road, died Sunday, Jan. 27, 2002, at the CV/PH Medical Center. He was born Jan. 6, 1928, in Clarks Summit, Pa., the son of Murl and Myrtle (Fitch) Lasher. He married the former Donna Gordon in the Whitchall, N.Y., Methodist Church on April 8, 1955. Mr. Lasher was a member of the Carpenter’s Local 747 and Clinton Lodge 155 of the Free & Accepted Masons. He was an avid certified welder working in the Northern New York area for over 40 years, retiring in 1993. Survivors include his wife; two sons, William M. Lasher Jr. and his wife, Sandy of Clarks Summit, Pa., and Theodore Lasher and his wife, Bonnie of Keeseville; one daughter, Jolynne Frenyea and her husband, Myron of Morrisonville; one sister, Peg Lasher of Clarks Summit, Pa.; five grandchildren, Michelle Forkey and her husband, Ryan of W. Chazy, Taressa Frazier and her husband, Ben of Bremerton, Wash., Dustin Lasher of Keeseville, and Brandon and Jeremy Frenyea both of Morrisonville; three great-grandchildren, Ethan and Austin Frazier both of Bremerton, Wash., and Dylan Forkey of W. Chazy; several brothers and sisters-in-law; and several nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by nine brothers and sisters. Calling hours will be held Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the R.W. Walker Funeral Home. Masonic ritualistic services will be held there at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday evening. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Donations may be made to the Diabetes Foundation or the Morrisonville Fire Department. Leonard W. Patnode, 81, of Valehaven Adult Home in Malone and formerly of the Spencer Road in Burke, died Sunday, Jan. 27, 2002, at Fletcher Allen Health Care Center in Burlington, Vt. He was born in Chateaugay, N.Y., on June 30, 1920, the son of Nelson and Josephine (Jarvis) Patnode. A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 31, 2002, in Chateaugay Funeral Home, with Rev. Fay Ager of St. Patrick’s Church officiating. Kenneth W. Porter Sr., 91, formally of Hurley Avenue, passed away Monday, Jan. 28, 2002, at the Uihlein Mercy Center where he had resided since Jan. 6, 1994. He was born in Chateaugay, N.Y., Sept. 13, 1910, the son of Charles and Anna (Doloff) Porter. Friends may call at the Clark Funeral Home in Lake Placid on Wednesday, Jan. 30, 2002, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral services will be held Thursday morning at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Rev. Richard Ducatt will officiate. Burial will follow in the North Elba Cemetery. A reception for all family and friends will be held following the burial at the New Hope Christian Fellowship Church on Averyville Road in Lake Placid.
