Ephraim R. Defayette

Morrisonville — Ephraim R. Defayette, 82, died Monday, Jan. 14, 2002, at the Meadowbrook Healthcare Facility in Plattsburgh.

He was born in Redford on Sept. 1, 1919, the son of Wilfred and Rose (Lafountain) Defayette.

He was employed by the Town of Plattsburgh Highway Department for over 12 years and was a member of St. Alexander’s Church in Morrisonville and the Knights of Columbus Council 255 in Plattsburgh.

He is survived by his wife, the former Carmela Rose Santori whom he married on Aug. 16, 1949; as well as several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

His sister, Julia Renadette died before him.

Calling hours will be held on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the O’Neill - Redden - Drown Funeral Home in Plattsburgh. Members of the Plattsburgh Knights of Columbus Council 255 are asked to meet at 7 p.m. at the funeral home for services. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday from St. Alexander’s Church in Morrisonville. Interment will be in the parish cemetery in the Spring

Beulah Sears Nicholson formerly of Plattsburgh died Sunday, Jan. 13, 2002, at her residence in Atlanta, Ga.

She was born March 17,1916, in Clinton, N.Y., to Andrew William Sears and Dora (Dubrey) Sears.

Mrs. Nicholson was cremated. Private memorial services will be held in Atlanta, Ga., at Sandy Springs Chapel.

DAVID P. FAIRCHILD, 91, formerly of Valcour, died Friday, Jan. 11, 2002, at St. James Place in Baton Rouge, La., of complications following a stroke.

He was born in Oswego, N.Y., January 17, 1910, son of George C. and Mabel (Dunham) Fairchild.

A memorial service will be held in Plattsburgh in the Spring. Burial will be in the family plot in Oswego. A full obituary will be forthcoming shortly.

RabenHorst Funeral Home in Baton Rouge is in charge of arrangements.

Yvonne Williams, 64, of Cross Street in Schroon Lake died Saturday, Jan. 12, 2002, at Glens Falls Hospital.

She was born Aug. 9, 1937, in Bronx, N.Y.,, the daughter of John and Thelma (Blake) Williams.

Calling hours will be held Tuesday, from 10 to 11 a.m. at the Harland Funeral Home in Port Henry. A funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Union Cemetery in the Spring.

 

Leonard E. Beeman, 82, of Ticonderoga, passed away Monday, Jan. 14, 2002, at the Moses-Ludington Hospital of Ticonderoga.

He was born Nov. 10, 1919, in Mineville, N.Y.

Calling hours will be Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Wilcox & Regan Funeral Home, 11 Algonkin Street, Ticonderoga. A funeral service will take place Thursday at 10 a.m. at the funeral home. The Rev. Paul L. Dufford Jr., pastor of the First United Methodist Church of Ticonderoga, will officiate. Burial will be in the Spring at the family plot of the Fairview Cemetery of Crown Point.

Anna E. Deissler, 91, formerly of Virginia Street in Saranac Lake, died Sunday, Jan. 13, 2002, at the Adirondack Medical Center in Saranac Lake.

She was born in Dobbs Ferry, N.Y., on June 16, 1910, the daughter of Leo and Maria (Schafer) Hesse.

There will be no calling hours or services at this time. A graveside service will be held in St. Bernard Cemetery in May, with Rev. Charles Monts, pastor of the First Presbyterian Church, officiating.

Fortune - Keough Funeral Home, Inc. was in charge of arrangements.

Roland George Roy II, 67, of Sebring Fla., and formerly of Plattsburgh, N.Y., died Saturday, Jan. 12, 2002, in Sebring, Fla.

He was born in Lynn, Mass.

A memorial service will be held on Thursday, Jan. 17, 2002, at 7 p.m. at Stephenson-Nelson Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. R.L. Polk officiating.

The Honorable R. John Wolcott, 62, of the Military Turnpike, died Monday, Jan. 14, 2002, at CVPH Medical Center.

He was born in Plattsburgh on April 22, 1939, the son of Ralph and Esther (Gonyea) Wolcott.

Calling hours will be Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the R.W. Walker Funeral Home in Plattsburgh. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Thursday at 11 a.m. at Our Lady of Victory Church. A complete obituary will be in Wednesday’s paper.
