Published 01/08/02Eva M. ToloskyEllenburg Depot — Eva M. Tolosky, 100, formerly of Ellenburg Depot, died Sunday, Jan. 6, 2002, at the Meadowbrook Healthcare Facility in Plattsburgh. She had been a resident of the Vilas Home in Plattsburgh since 1998 before going to Meadowbrook in June 2001. Eva was born in Irona on Aug. 31, 1901, the daughter of Leander and Pamela (Pichette) Jordan. She was the last survivor of 12 children. Mrs. Tolosky was a member of St. Edmund’s Church in Ellenburg and was a member of the Altar-Rosary Society. She is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law, David "Bill" and Jean Tolosky of West Chazy, Russell and Emma Tolosky of Chateaugay and Paul and Patricia Tolosky of New Jersey; nine grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Tuffield A. Tolosky in 1982; a son, Thomas in 1953; and a grandson, Steven Tolosky in 1985. There will be no calling hours. A Mass will be celebrated in the spring from St. Edmund’s Church in Ellenburg. Interment will be in St. Patrick’s Cemetery in Chateaugay in the spring. The E.F. Drown Funeral Service in Ellenburg Depot is in charge of arrangements. Elizabeth "Betty" JacquesPlattsburgh — Elizabeth "Betty" Jacques, 82, of Morrisonville and recently residing at Evergreen Valley Nursing Home, died Monday, Jan. 7, 2002, at the CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh. She was born in Detroit, Mich., on Jan. 14, 1919, daughter of James and Mary (Jabaut) Carter. Betty was a graduate of St. John’s Academy in Plattsburgh and she was a member of St. Alexander’s Church in Morrisonville. Betty is survived by her husband, Leon Jacques of Morrisonville, they were married Jan. 23, 1941, at St. Alexander’s Church in Morrisonville; two daughters and a son-in-law, Phyllis Jacques of Plattsburgh, Barbara and Terry Bordeau of Morrisonville; one granddaughter and her husband, Stephanie and Pete Trombley; a great-granddaughter, Alexis Trombley; a great-grandson, Bryce Trombley; and a sister-in-law, Dorothy Carter of Plattsburgh. Betty was predeceased by a brother, Lester Carter; and a granddaughter, Lori Ann Bordeau. Calling hours will be Tuesday, Jan. 8, 2002, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home in Plattsburgh. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Wednesday, Jan. 9, 2001, at 11 a.m. from St. Alexander’s Church in Morrisonville. Burial will be later in the year in St. Alexander’s Cemetery. Donations in her memory may be made to Evergreen Valley Nursing Home Activities Fund or Masses may be offered in her memory.
