He was born in Brooklyn, N.Y., in 1951, the son of June and Gerald Duffy. He is survived by his wife of 26 years, Cynthia (Tia FitzPatrick) Duffy; two sons, Connor F. Duffy and Garrett F. Duffy; and two sisters, Susan Smith and Patricia Barrett; Also brother, Dr. Timothy M. Duffy; brothers-in- law, Darryl Smith and Gordon Barrett; sister-in-law, Gretchen Duffy; and nieces and nephews. Kevin graduated from St. John’s Academy and Plattsburgh State University. The family lived in Clam Gulch, Alaska, for many years. Residences also included Seattle, Wash., Plattsburgh, N.Y., and Naples, Fla. Kevin was a graduate of the Diver’s Institute of Technology, a certified Dive Master, licensed pilot, U.S. Coast Guard Captain, Nationally ranked U.S. Luge racer, member of the United Fishermen of Alaska, member of the Naples Area Board of Realtors as well as an accomplished mountain climber. A man of many talents, Kevin will be missed by his family and friends. Funeral Mass was celebrated at St. Ann Catholic Church in Naples on Dec. 30, 2001. Internment will be at a date in the spring at Mt. Carmel Cemetery. Marie-Claire RacineROUSES POINT — Marie-Claire Racine, 60, unexpectedly returned to our Lord on Jan. 3, 2002, as a result of a sudden stroke. She was born in L’Acadie, Quebec, on Aug. 5, 1941, to parents Gaston and Angele (Landrie) Roy. She graduated from St. John’s Normal School and worked as a grade school teacher. Today we all know her as the owner and operator of Racine’s Mobil and Racine’s Liquor Store in Rouses Point, N.Y. She is survived by her husband of 34 years, Rodney Racine; daughter and son-in-law, Nicole and Matthew Diehl; and granddaughter, Alexandra; son and daughter-in-law, Dennis and Rakelle Racine; and grandson, Parker; and sons, John and Patrick; She is also survived by her brothers, Laurent, Michel and Jean-Guy Roy of Quebec. Relatives and friends may call Sunday, Jan. 6, 2002, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at Clark’s Funeral Home in Rouses Point. Bill, 88, died Friday, Jan. 4, 2002, at Evergreen Valley Nursing Home in Plattsburgh. She was born in Morrisonville on May 4, 1913, the daughter of Aurelia Terry and Eugene LaRocque. Alvina formerly lived in Dannemora and Denver, Colo. She was a former member of the Home Bureau, the Senior Citizens, and the Dannemora Drop In Center. She is survived by three daughters, Beverly Quante of Denver, Colo., Shirley Reyell of Schuyler Falls and Carolyn Tompkins and her husband, Charlie of Plattsburgh; one son, Thomas Sweeney and his wife, Dorie of Morrisonville; 16 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. She was predeceased by her parents; her husband, Curtis L. Bill; a daughter, Barbara Cumm; a great-grandchild; four sisters, Priscilla LaRocque, Rosella Lord, Adele Bouyea and May Cook; two brothers, Burton LaRocque and Elwood LaRocque; and three sons-in-law, Joe Cumm, Albert Reyell and John Quante. There will be no calling hours. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Tuesday from St. Joseph’s Church in Dannemora. Interment will be in the parish cemetery in the spring. Richard "Fred" BrightTiconderoga — Richard "Fred" Bright, 41, of Ticonderoga, passed away at the home of his brother surrounded by family and friends, on Friday, Jan. 4, 2002. He was born in Ticonderoga, Dec. 31, 1960, the son of Robert and Linda (Carey) Bright. Richard attended Crown Point Central School. He was employed at R.B. Motors at the time of his death. Richard loved working on cars, snowmobiles, building model cars, and spending time with his children. He is survived by two sons, Travis J. Bright of Plattsburgh and Derrick R. Bright of Ticonderoga; his parents, Robert Bright of Ticonderoga and Linda Barro’s of Panton, Vt.; one brother, Kevin Bright of Ticonderoga; two sisters, Amy McCoy of Ticonderoga and Darcy Bright of Moriah; three nephews; one niece; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins. Richard was also survived by his special friend and companion, April Graves of Ticonderoga. John BelangerPlattsburgh — John Arvin Belanger, 86, passed away peacefully among loved ones on Thursday, Dec. 27, 2001, at his home on Shirley Avenue. He was born in Cohoes, N.Y., on May 1, 1915. John served in the U.S. Army from 1943 to 1946, where he was promoted to staff sergeant during World War II. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1466 in Plattsburgh. Before moving to Plattsburgh, John retired from the United States Postal Service in Cohoes, N.Y., as a letter carrier after 30 years of service. Survivors include Beatrice Lemieux, a dear companion of 20 years; and her family, all of Plattsburgh; one daughter and one son-in-law, Roberta and Ernie Sage of Largo, Fla.; two sons and two daughters-in-law, Jack and Karin Belanger of Hazel Green, Ala., and Ricky and Colleen Belanger of Cohoes, N.Y.; two grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Prior to his death, John had made a commitment to donate his body to the University of Vermont Medical College. He is hoping that his donation will help in the advancement of medical technology. There will be no calling hours. Pauline Joyce FacteauPLATTSBURGH — Pauline Joyce Facteau, 75, of Oak Street in Plattsburgh, died Wednesday, Jan. 2, 2002, at CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh, N.Y. Born in Lyon Mountain, N.Y., on June 7, 1926, she was the daughter of Owen and Mary (Jordan) Conley. She was married to Clayton Facteau on Jan. 23, 1943, in St. Bernard’s Church in Lyon Mountain. Mrs. Facteau is survived by her husband of 58 years; two sons and daughters-in-law, Mitchel and Joyce Ann Facteau of Lyon Mountain, N.Y., and Guy and Lana Facteau of Dannemora, N.Y.; two daughters and sons-in-law, Mary and H. Pete Hicks of Dannemora, N.Y., and Linda and Mark Stiles of Cadyville, N.Y.; four grandchildren, Patrick Hicks and fiancee, Jen Lennon of Morrisonville, N.Y., Matthew and Germaine Hicks of Cadyville, N.Y., Rebecca and Russell Lester of Morrisonville, N.Y., and Robert and Renee Stiles of Dannemora, N.Y.; three great-grandchildren, Bryce Hicks, Shawn Hicks and Audrey Lester; a stepgreat - granddaughter, Arianna Lennon; and a sister and brother-in-law, Gloria and Floyd Brooks of Lyon Mountain, N.Y. She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Lawrence and Floyd Conley; and a sister, Marion Caron. Mrs. Facteau lived in Lyon Mountain before moving to Plattsburgh in 1983. She was a member of Plattsburgh Senior Citizens Group and AARP. Pauline was a very dedicated and loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. In her spare time, she enjoyed doing the genealogy for her family, friends and neighbors. Jacques, 23, of Franklin Street in Malone, N.Y., died unexpectedly Wednesday, Jan. 2, 2002, at the Alice Hyde Medical Center in Malone. She was born in Malone, Oct. 31, 1978, the daughter of Raymond and Diane Sweet Jacques Jr. of Malone. Calling hours will be Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Bruso-Desnoyers Funeral Home in Malone. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Monday at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph’s Church in Malone, with Msgr. C. John McAvoy officiating. Sister Mary Pauline Mullett, R.S.M., passed away Friday, Jan. 4, 2002, at the Uihlein Mercy Center in Lake Placid where she resided since Feb. 7, 1997. Sister was born in St. Johns, Newfoundland, Canada, February 8, 1907, the daughter of Peter And Rosella (Lelievow) Mullett. Visitation will be Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at St. Margaret’s Convent in Uihlein Mercy Center in Lake Placid. A funeral Mass will be celebrated Tuesday, Jan. 7, 2002, at noon at Uihlein Mercy Center Chapel. Rev. Patrick O’Reilly will celebrate the Mass. Burial will be in St. Alphonsus Cemetery in Tupper Lake in May. The Clark Funeral Home in Lake Placid is in charge of arrangements.
